Guys -- I haven't read this whole thread and don't shoot the messenger either but a mate who lives in Perth, Australia not Scotland, tells me that the news there is that LFE - London Football Exchange - want seven Clubs - Perth and Palace being two of them. It will be just our luck that a massive company wants to buy us out but we get relegated so they move on. I can see it happening. It would be exactly like our transfers, "we tried to make it happen, but we couldn't get it over the line". Are we destined to be forever the bridesmaid and the ugly one at that.

I've just had a brief look into it. The Perth Glory thing will likely happen - still needs approval. However, LFE have a goal of reaching funding of 350 mil US dollars. They do not currently have anywhere near that. Regardless of anything else, they just wouldn't have the equity to buy Palace without being considerably in debt. On that grounds, they may want Palace but doesn't look like they could ever afford the club.

Thanks for the info - interesting why they put it out there - want is very different to the ability to buy!

One thing we don’t want and Parish wouldn’t do is sell us to someone financing it on debt. Not sure how that would Pano out if they bought the US owner shares and Delaware or everything apart from Parish’s 18% and whatever others of the original other 3 of 2010 still own, or if anyone would really want to buy us using debt, however, there could be scope to do that if you actually did redevelop the stadium and sold it on as a tip top Prem club, because that is the only way you could make money out of Palace, not from annual sales and profit because we aren’t global or have any other notable revenue streams apart from Tv money, which immediately goes on player costs to stay in the division (the other corporate revenue and profit is where we need to get to but we aren’t carrying through the vanity project plans) What would concern me regarding our longer term future is if we ever did get to the stage of being fully developed then the scope to sell on at a profit goes, and to an extent so does the financial security for potential owners or buyers, but I may never see that day in my lifetime with us playing in front of either the current wh lane end or arfur for decades to come so I shouldn’t worry about it. We’ll be playing hoverball in the sky in an overpopulated Britain living on mushrooms and insects by then probably. Edited by Rudi Hedman (12 Feb 2020 1.18pm)

Palace could substantially benefit from being in a stable of clubs where the owners were all about knowing the global market for players.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I know very little about financial matters but it does seem these are the sort of owners we do not want, unfortunately if they have the cash available the US owners will not worry. How much clout will SP have in the sale?

Owners with multiple club spell bad news for us fans. Club going bankrupt in Eastern Europe no problem just subsidise with Palace money. The Charlton former owner had 4/5 clubs and Charlton fans had their suspicions as to where their money was going. Many years ago before Bill Kenwright Everton had an owner who also owned Tranmere, Everton bought their goalkeeper for a world record fee at the time. Of course it had nothing to do with Tranmere on the verge of bankruptcy. Even today there are rumours that the Arsenal owner is using club money to keep his American sports franchises going. I really hope this doesn't happen.
