Turns down 120,000 sorry its 125,000 now ,he wants away its the same story every window ,even when we got him back we was selling him, well so the papers say.

If we get 70million for him thats great, sooner it happened before the world cup instead of 18 days or so before the window shuts,
we have some talented young players, Wan-Bissaka for me looks better going forward like Wilf, has pace and tricks but tackles better than Wilf, his defending is ok, but does tend to turn his back on the attacker,

if he goes its not the end of the world Roy will sort it out,if Yannick comes back thats not a bad thing if its part exchange for Wilf,

at the end of the day we need a goal scorer no good having a supply if the guy up front cant score,
Wilf is midfield attacker not a 20 goal a season player,

one good forward will score 20 even without Wilf

I really don't understand why Wilf would want to go to Everton. Bigger club but no European football and no guarantee of it either. Not as if he needs to move to feature in Internationals and I can't see them doubling his wages (maybe I'm wrong about that).

Spurs or Dortmund makes sense as he will challenge for trophies and play in Europe and in front of 60k+ every week.

FWIW I don't think he will go unless the money is insane. If van Dijk is worth £75m Wilf is worth more than £75m.

Exactly, until we see some quotes from Wilf it doesnt mean anything. I'm sure its true his agent is trying to canvass interested parties but until the man himself says he wants out its all propaganda.

Some have interpreted his rejection of the contract offer as a desire to leave. A not entirely unreasonable assumption to make but it's not exactly conclusive evidence.

Does anyone think this all might be a bit of a stunt by the club?

For instance...

Wilf has a 4 year contract with us and has a very healthy relationship with the fans and the club. There really is no need to offer him fresh terms. If we believe whats been said recently then Wilf is on more than I initially realised so its odd timing to offer him fresh terms.

The club have been quiet on the transfer front. In fact if we ignore the GK deal then we have not signed anyone we hadn't already done a deal with. After what RH said recently we might not have much money this season.

Now what if the club has decided to offer Wilf fresh terms, against a backdrop of false transfer rumour...just to appease the fans? Some fans would actually be won over by that. They would see it as a job well done by the club because Wilf has stayed.

So it would be a summer of "well done Palace" we have managed to keep our best player (who was already on a 4 year contract).

All I am saying is...perhaps the lack of feedback from the club on this contract situation is a tactical approach rather than a sign that Wilf has indeed decided he wants to leave.

It's the likes of Levy and Everton trying to apply pressure as they don't like the fact we have him signed up to a 4yr contract and they know they'll have to pay big bucks to get our attention!

And that is a fair assumption. However he has 3-4 years remaining so pffffft. However I suppose its also fair to say because of the close bond he has with the fans and his awareness of how we all feel about him he may not publicly come out and say anything at all despite what his real intentions may be. He would only do that if he had to force the move, i'm not convinced he'd do that.

Can someone who knows more than me about backroom shenanigans explain something.

The press are reporting that Zaha has gone public and stated that he wants to go to Spurs. I have seen nothing to verify this. Thus, it is either true; or untrue.

If the latter, how does such a story usually appear? Is it fed by Wilf's agent trying to improve his terms? Or by Spurs? The latter seems unlikely as the lie will be quickly exposed and everyone will laugh it off.

If we do a deal with Everton it won’t be for £70 mil. Not even £45 mil. The chubby black guy who’s been an agent was on the radio saying he should leave and he’s worth more than Gulfi Sigurdsson and over £60 mil to start the bids up towards £70 mil.

Yes I agree. His value was overinflated massively due to a couple of decent games for France in the Euros against relatively average teams (Germany aside).

Yes I remember that and Geordies saying how Mike Ashley would be lapping it up.

Cash only I would love to see Bolasie back but Everton must know something as they haven't given him a chance since the injury. As for Sissoko, Tottenham overpaid and it's about time someone stood up to Levy and made him pay.

Tottally agree!
Obviously regreating see Wilf leaving and fully counscious of risks we take if it happen only in cash! And always beyhond 60M. at least!
