Rumour going round that Canelo who is scheduled to fight on 2nd May, is to start talks with Billy Joe Saunders this week about being a possible opponent.

Big fan of Billy Joe and would be great to see him on the biggest stage against the worlds number 1.

BJS would I’m sure start as a huge underdog however in my opinion may be worth a punt. Fantastic, underrated skills and a brilliant defensive technician.

Hope this one gets made.

Financially for BJS I hope so to but from a UK fan point of view an all British fight with Callum Smith would be brilliant (and would still earn him serious coin!)

No doubting the talent BJS has but I find it hard to warm to him... can’t help but think his career has passed him by slightly with the amount of ‘injuries’ he has had and long spells of inactivity

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Agree a Smith/Saunders fight would be worth a watch. But if Bill loses that fight , a fight with Canelo never happens. If he loses to Canelo, like everyone does, the Smith fight would still happen.
If you are offered Canelo, you drop everything to fight him.

Wilder v Fury 2 this Saturday.

Huge fight yet not seeming to get the recognition it deserves,

Wilder has been made a slight favourite.

Hard to see anything other than wilder by KO or Fury on points.

This is potentially the most significant heavyweight fight for a decade but it’s AJ who sells the tickets.

It's a big fight....but I'm also a bit non plussed about it.

I think it's because I don't like Fury and I don't like Wilder.

AJ is actually likeable....People want him to win.....The only reason I'll be backing Fury is because he's a brit....when he isn't doing his plastic paddy act.

I'll be watching it regardless.....because I want to see one of these gits lose.

Fury puts it on the line though.

He's avoided fights when it's suited him.....like all of them accept AJ and Whyte.

Terry Lawless (for me), started the "fight some bums to get a real fight" strategy with Bruno.
I looked at Wilder's record, which is outstanding. I then looked at all of his fights , and a lot were total mis-matches. But I guess you can only fight what is in front of you.

And when you're at the top (AJ, Wilder and Fury), then there is only one way to go. they want to prolong their earnings for as long as possible.
It's 5hlt for the public, but excellent business-sense.

That is why wilder-Fury is such a draw to the public now, and why AJ has much less of a stock value as a consequence of swerving decent opponents

I’m guessing he means TF and DW. Truth is AJ has arguably the better overall record of opponents on his CV.

Ah yes, I've read that wrong.

Apologies to Forest Hillbilly....yep I fully agree.

The 'conning of the public', as Warren somewhat hyprocritely called it has been going on for yonks.

I think most of us accept that a prospect needs 15 odd fights to learn their trade.....but what happened with Wilder and indeed other padded records is a complete taking of the p1ss.

Boxing fans being short changed.

I’m looking forward to the fight and will definitely be watching it live.
Not expecting a classic , more a cagey fight.
People talk about the last fight being great, it really wasn’t , thought it was a boring fight TIL fury hit the canvas.
Will have to have a look at the undercard to see when I will start paying attention, as all of the boxing people are saying (and Tom ), can’t see anything other that a wilder KO or fury on points, hope I’m wrong.
