Just look at the many shopping mall & school shootings that take place every year. thousands more die this way than any kind or potential 'terrorist' attacks in the US and yet what has Trump said about this? Absolutely nothing of course because he's a racist coward. He also hates other countries that easily out compete the US such as Europe and Japan that manufacture the best cars in the world that Americans queue up to buy because the US makes some of the worst and most polluting cars in the world. He wants a weak Europe and a weak Asia so his prehistoric manufacturing and technology bases have some kind of hope in 'competing'. Now he's been completely humiliated over the travel ban he imposed which lasted a matter of days. This will be the first of many humiliations because he's clueless about anything internationally politically savvy. Robert Fico, prime minister of Slovakia (vassal of the EU), has declared that Islam has no place in his country, while Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, wants the burqa banned wherever possible. Yet you are not calling them 'racist cowards', and judging by your forum name, I guess you would favour 'ever close union' with these people.

He has a very long to do list from listening to him And while the media is still agonising over the so called Muslim ban he has moved on to other issues And he has only been there a couple of weeks The main mistake commentators seem to be making is trying to measure him as a politician of the old school

And all the perpetrators adhere to to a specific and minority extremist branch of Islam funded and promoted by Saudi Arabia yet that country is not on Trump's list. Why? Iran are Shias. Not one Shia has been involved in any of the terrorist atrocities in Europe and the U.S yet they are being promoted as 'the big evil' again and Saudi Arabia is, conveniently, not. It's a scam.

As causes of preventable deaths, in a country where guns kill around 10-14,000 people a year, its pretty negligible. Terrorism is a significant threat, but the perception of it as a threat dwarves the reality. Now of course that doesn't mean we should just forget about it, but its not something that's so common as to justify the kind of absurdly high level of focus of things like the Patriot Act, Homeland Security etc which moved the US closer to a police state and tyranny over its own people. The hypocrisy of the US position could be seen in the rejection of a bill to prevent people on terrorist watch lists / no fly lists from legally purchasing firearms....

When set against the number of murders carried out by US citizens with legally held guns that year and in every year since....... Therefore, it's overwhelmingly more likely for a US citizen to be murdered by another US citizen - not by an immigrant terrorist. That's the point.

This idea that events like 9/11 are 'pretty negligible' because more die by other means is of course nonsense. The atom bomb on Hiroshima killed about 140,000 whereas malaria killed from 300,000 to 1 million a year historically. By your logic, Hiroshima is therefore 'pretty negligible'. It is not just the numbers involved that make something significant.

Bad analogy as the point was about human on human violence not teeny weeny insects nastiness on humans as you well know. 300,000 killed by the gun in the U.S over the last 10 or so years. That's two Hiroshimas. So, well over 1,000,0000 family members directly affected by the loss.
