Limited spend last three years, richest league in the world, billionaire owners, spent £183m less than our local rivals. Makes you kind of wonder where all the money has gone and before anyone says Sakho and Benteke, and then PVA, Kouyate, Milivojevic, you can add that lot up and it still comes to nowhere near £100m let alone £180m . Methinks the septics are siphoning money off to their US companies.

The bbs go through the company accounts with fine tooth combs so any money going astray would be common knowledge within hours of the company accounts being available. Our wages are incredibly high for our size and budget, hiding for years our inept transfer strategies and tools to deliver. I.e - none.

You say that but don’t we have the most complicated company structure ever known to man where you could hide almost anything and there is also the small matter of the lack of investment from our billionaires, but I suppose they can be as tight as they want to be.

Love Roy, but yes time to go for me. I’m even beginning to miss Pardew, at least the games were enjoyable even if we were heading for the trap door

I completely respect and am very happy with the job that Roy has done for us since his arrival, but unfortunately Roy was/is a short-term solution for us. A few here saying back Roy with money for signings, but personally I think that would be a waste of investment. Roy has 1 year left on his contract and will only ever be with us on a rolling 1-year deal from this point forward. With this uncertainty on whether he will be here long-term and of course his age indicates he very likely will not, why invest in his players when he could be gone very soon? Roy has a fantastic football brain. Yes, his football for us might not always be exciting but we have gathered brilliant results and had consecutive seasons of solid finishes in the league (more importantly, not been relegated). So I'd love him to stay in the club in an advisory capacity. But it think it is the right decision to replace Roy now and have a new manager for the start of the new season. If we don't we are simply delaying that same move by a year. You'd imagine with the 3 years (give or take) Roy has been at the helm, the board have been seeking options of a successor. If they haven't... then who knows what the plan is. So yes, I think now is the time for Roy to leave. But not because I think he's done a terrible job.

I was reminded of Hodgson earlier today when hearing a discussion on Jack Charlton who has just passed away.

If you are referring to the Americans they never came in with intention to spend money on the likes of transfers this was stated at the beginning they put a nice amount in which was ring fenced to go towards upgrades to stadium etc. Big Sam even thanked them for giving him the funds he had to spend in that Jan window. They gave the club a loan as well which was 30-40m this is why the sale of Aaron they pocked most of it to pay them back but some other dumb person went and took another loan out. People who keep asking about the money look at the wages the bill is awful we are really over paying and it doesn't help when you keep giving ungraceful people like Wilf even more money when they still had like 3-4 years left on current deal. This stuff is nothing to do with Roy anyway. If we lose to Villa 100% he has to go no more excuses from anybody

Roy is going in 12 months. The way this thread is being played out, it is though he has just signed a 10 year contract. Relax folks he will be gone soon.
