I'm all for people having the right to wear what they want but I do think this is double standards, Senegal a country with a large majority Muslim population, bans the burqa and there doesn't seem to be much outrage. If a country in the West tried to do the same there would be an uproar about it. [Link]

Should we also stop nuns from wearing their habits?

only if they start covering their faces with them

I was being facetious, but both are religious headgear.

Perhaps we should insist that they move from burka to hijab.

its not that its religious that causes the issue, its that it obscures the face. in the same way that banks dont let motorbike riders wear they're helmets indoors.

You may want to twist the reasoning that its all about religion and peoples rights etc but it aint. simple as.

An interesting read if you actually drill into the stats, but it could be said 90% of Muslims in this country are against the 7/7 actions.

Could the same be said about British Jews and Palestine?

Blimey...So,you think 90% of "British Jews" support Israel in a way that equates to supporting ISIS and/or the 7/7 bombings in London? You often post some pretty sensible stuff IMO, but perhaps even the "right on" can exhibit inappropriate knee jerk prejudice on occasion......

May be badly worded, I mean the other way round, but it is about the usage of stats, what I am saying is that 1 in 10 is a very small minority and that every section of society has it's nutters.

But essentially at the end of all that he is saying the only way to win against ISIL is to defeat them and that militarily.

Hopefully between the numpties that rule the majority of this planet. they can come up with a half sensible plan that has some clear objectives

In certain countries female tourists/Visitors are made to cover up their Knees/Shoulders if we can live with having to do that then people visiting other countries should observe their rules. If We/They cannot live with it then simply do not go to that country. It seems to me we bend over backwards to accomadate others and its not recipricated. Nobody in this country should be able to cover their faces in public places.
