I was also wondering why Dyche hasn't come out and made a statement saying that he is not interested in the Palace job. I posed that question, what must now be, many pages back. Bearing in mind his frequently lauded loyalty to Burnley, you'd think he want to put them out of their misery one way or the other.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

It looks to me like his agent is playing it to try to get a better deal out of Burnley. If he were serious about coming here and we thought he was our preference, both he and Burnley would have wanted it done ages ago and he isn't in the frame for Southampton.

You can't have this both ways. We're told that, with the variety of modern methods of communication, it doesn't matter if Parish is on holiday 24/7, as it's not an impediment to getting business done. But on the other hand, Dyche is incommunicado because he's having a paddle and building a few sandcastles with a knotted hankie on his head. Both can't be correct can they? There was a huge outcry on HOL and the BBS a couple of years ago when Parish disappeared off to the West Indies in January when we were desperate to sign players and Parish countered that by stating that it didn't matter where in the world he was he was always available if needed. People who want a job don't disappear out of contact during the job hunting season

Yes and Burnley wanting to know either way means diddly squat when Dyche is silent on the matter and there's a £1 mil release clause on his contract. Burnley have very little say on this if Palace and Dyche are ant to make music. Why people are pretending they do is really odd.

Parish suggested it in the American radio interview. With the ceiling being 8th place. Palace only being 5 pts off Southampton in 8th. The extra/extreme investment is hardly worth. The potential 3 or 5 places in the table. Worth extra 6 to 8m if 8th placed is achieved. If your an investor. We may have to go with the likes of Hennessy, ward and puncheon for one more season. I'm not sure that there was ever any realistic chance of upgrading the three that you mentioned as whilst all performed poorly under Pardew they upped their game when Big Sam came along. Central defender and second striker are probably the top requirements

Surely succession planning is about not being "surprised". We should have had an ongoing list of potential replacements, properly researched, so that we could identify the best target and go that. With our record of managers upping and leaving unexpectedly, together with Sam having a six-month break clause, we should have been better prepared. The tired cliché that any opposition to Dyche is because he isn't "foreign" has long-since been debunked. Those who don't want Dyche are so minded because they don't think he's good enough and that he won't bring anything new to the party. Liverpool used to have the best succession planning years ago.

Or perhaps he hasn't I thought he had a rolling yearly contract so I guess that has been renewed and that is where the speculation on the 1mil compensation comes from as otherwise at the end of this month he would be out of contract?

Perhaps they have already accepted that he is leaving and are quietly interviewing Pellegrino and FDB to replace him. OK. Perhaps not
