Another name mentioned. It's an unfortunate name but it's mentioned.

Whoever wants roy is a fool we won't win a game with him in charge people with short memories might not remember that roy doesn't make subs doesn't give players a go jairo won play of the month a left back then dropped him ahamada in times he's come looks brilliant runs forward with the ball passing forward breacking through defences won't get an opportunity will keep playing schlupp and ayew both ineffective like Roy's tactics It's beyond a disgrace we need goals if we were in the bottom 3 leaking goals I'd get it but where not were missing chances and not creating enough a defensive manager isn't the answer at all

Suggestion we are in talks with Austrian coach Afi Hutter who was bundesliga coach of the year with Eintracht Frankfurt before a poor season last year managing Borussia Moonchenglabach. Attack minded coach and currently unemployed.

Know absolutely nothing about Adi Hutter beyond what’s on Wikipedia, hilarious name though. I suppose if it is to be him we can all split into two predominant groups: those who will research him, pick out his highlights and heil (wordplay intended) his appointment or others who equally research him, focus solely on what we think we need and assume he does not have and forecast the apocalypse. It will be Roy but, but, if it is this fella, will certainly keep this forum active for the coming months. I’m confident we’ll lose to 0 tomorrow however I’m posting with the hope I’ll look foolish for saying so. Bring em on in any case! Emotional times but last thing we need is to all start b!tching at one another, be loud, be proud, be Palace! COYP!!! And come on Paddy, his face as the final whistle blew at Hillsborough still etched in my mind! We had an N Clyne in the bench that day if memory serves.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Surely we need a manager who knows the league and can hit the ground running. We don't have time for experiments. The way the league is going, we could be bottom in three games.

That would be an experiment that would be far too risky. That's why slogans like "With Adolf H. we'll conquer Europe" are premature. BTW, there are also quite nice people in Austria who have the bad luck (or such stupid parents) to have been baptised with the name Adolf. My first wife had an uncle whose name (not entirely by chance) was Adolf. He was good-naturedness and peacefulness personified, in complete contrast to his wife with a completely harmless first name.

Pundits think SP has got this wrong. A panic move, not thought through etc. The pundits should know better ... or don't they watch our games? I've got nothing against PV so long as he goes to "manage" another team.

Isn't this fun. So typically Palace. Sack the manager when we are mid table and have no idea who to bring in. Except maybe the previous manager who, incidentally, most fans wanted out, and then took on a team for half a season and got them from 19th to err... 19th, and relegated. Panic stations!

Positives about Roy: - He kept us up, fairly comfortably, with a worse squad that what PV had to work with. - If PV had been our manager to start 22/23, I think we'd be "safe" by now. That being said, my issues with him are the same as what others have already said... - He's old. He saved our PL position many times. Why in the world does he want to go through this again? If he comes back and we go down, he'll be forever remembered for that, when he deserves to be remembered as the manager who kept us up under some really difficult circumstances. The risk/reward seems like it isn't worth it for him. - Watford. He took them over with plenty of time, and they were awful, and relegated. Granted our squad is better than Watford, but still, it's concerning that he had zero impact when trying to save them. - Style of play. Roy is a defense first manager. He's the type to park the bus and hope for a lucky goal, which is what PV had been doing for months. So if our biggest problem is we're unable to generate any attack, why hire a manager who was never good at attacking? At the end of the day, Roy is a better manager than PV, so I'd rather have Roy than PV for this relegation scrap. Maybe having quality assistants, better fitness, and a consistent game plan is enough to keep us up. Ideally, I'd like to get Allardyce back. I think our squad needs a rocket up their ass, and BFS is better to do that than Roy.
