Our 'Net spend' over the last 3 seasons has just been £8 Mill.
Compare that to Brighton over the same period - £190 Mill.

WOW. Is that really so!! Amazing job by Roy on a relative 'shoestring' then!!

I think we 'got away with it' not spending last year, but might not be so lucky this close season, now the senior players are a year older. Major overall needed in my opinion!!

... what

Last night I was in conversation with someone involved in the game and I expressed real concerns about our prospects next season. Ageing squad with hardly any resale value and the transfer coffers hardly filled to the brim.

Just show us all what an amazing job Roy has done since he arrived to clear-up the FdV mess. Roy needs the board to support him in this coming window but sadly antecedence says otherwise!

After the Leicester fiasco,Roy was saying how we desperately need a striker like Vardy or Ings.

Guess what,Ings was offered to us but we would not apparently pay asking price!!

Southampton paid £20 Mill for Ings.
He grew up not that far from Southampton's current stadium and supported the club as a young lad.
It was Hodgson who gave Ings his England debut.

Liverpool increased the price to us, as they thought we would fall for it again.

Villa spent close to £150 million in the last year. I would much rather our boring football than to have spent that money on average players and still get relegated. Roy is doing a fantastic job under the circumstances.

My understanding is that A.Villa signed 17 players this season, including a couple of loans.
My understanding also is that Fulham signed 15 players last season when they were relegated.

We tried to sign Ings when we played Bournemouth in a pre season friendly years ago. I believe a deal was close to being done and then they upped the price.

Ings went from Bournemouth to Burnley where he was signed by his former manager Eddie Howe. I understand the price was just over £1 Mill.
