We are a laughing stock yet again…..if Roy returns this could seriously turn toxic.

Precisely this. What a farce. Bring back Sid James, Kenneth Williams, and Hattie Jacques.

I'm OK with PV gone, but return of Roy H. should be forbidden by law.

I think Roy Hodgson was a really good manager for us and I hope that’s how he leaves his legacy with us.

Not the guy that comes back for one last time and takes us down. You don’t need it Roy. Enjoy retirement.

We need to plan for the future NOW!

The board need to consider there are two scenarios that play out:

1. We stay up. The squad needs 7/8 new players. Inactivity in past windows means we can’t make the same mistakes again.
2. We go down. The squad will need possibly even more players. It could almost be half a squad.

We need a new manager now that will be here next season and have assurances whatever division we are in.
Appointing an interim puts it off again. SP will spend half the summer appointing a new manager and we will go into the new season woefully unprepared again!
We need to learn from past mistakes, not patch things up. The squad is what it is. No one is going to bring in new players and even Roy or Sam needed a few games to make a difference, it wasn’t instant. We are partly in the hope that what we have is enough and there are 3 worst teams than us.
Will Roy be here next season? No. So he shouldn’t be here this season either. It’s this short sided approach that has meant Brighton and Brentford are now ahead of us.

Bring in a new manager. Let’s see where we finish and give him the maximum amount of time to plan for next season.

I don’t want us going down, but I don’t want us staying up and being so badly prepared for next season that it becomes a certainty and in embarrassing style next year.

I’m very reluctant to give Roy any grief, in fact inclined to show him gratitude, but his return would surely be the ultimate justification for any singing of ‘you don’t know what your doing’. It’s essentially an admittance of cluelessness from those at the top.

The man is 75 too. It’s a bit like a middle aged bloke attempting to fly the nest and live his life decades later than everyone else, having to move back in with his widowed, elderly father after his short lived venture falls apart.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

As Parish himself says in the programmes “carry on up the Palace”.

Give Paddy a chance to put a bit of fire under them. Get Edouard, Mateta, Schlupp, and Ayew completely out of the way. If necessary get Jesrun and Killian Phillips in - both flying. Anyone else other than Edouard or Mateta up front.

Arsenal - loss
Leicester (H) - win
Leeds - draw
Southampton - draw
Everton (H) - win
Wolves - draw

9 points + 27 = 36 and safe with a few games to play around to finish the season with. Then get 4 decent players in striker, right back, midfielder and Lokonga.

Warnock is not much younger than Hodgson but seems to have turned things round at H’field.

As a stopgap until end of season, I would be happy for Roy to return.

Hostility from certain fans (possibly the majority) would be an issue, but there is only one priority - staying up.

Of course, it is possible that Roy might rule himself out.

Incidentally, any word yet from PV on his departure?

Last season the team were a revelation under Vieira. This season I’m not sure what has gone wrong. In modern day football I guess he had to go. However the thought of Roy coming back until the end of the season fills me with dread.
As for long term replacements watching Vincent Kompany on BBC I would love him to come in. Of course that won’t happen. The other names being touted I can’t see our players being able to work Bielsa’s methods. The ex Southampton guy played 3 at the back. Our fullbacks not good enough for that formation.
So it’s all a bit depressing really

Midfield, if fit, Eze, McArthur, Hughes, Schlupp.

I hope you’re not suggesting that is a midfield we should actually consider playing? We wouldn’t get a touch in our own half let alone the opposition’s.
