It all depends what your hopes are. I can not speak for anyone but myself but I really believe that the club is going to start kicking on and move upwards but it all depends on us just getting through this depressing patch. If we get relegated it’s all over but if we stay up this season the rebuilding can begin, it will take time but I do believe it will happen. Five teams in the top eight of the Championship are all trying to get back having been relegated one, two and three years ago, if we go down the opportunity to get back has quite obviously improved dramatically over the past three to four years, Norwich look to be up and Watford and Swansea appear to be fighting Brentford for the other promotion place, all the play offs could involve Cardiff quite easily too.

Everyone entitled to an opinion of course, but his job is to commentate on the game I would suggest, not opine on the prospects of us being able to attract a manager. I bet if he had said a few complimentary things about us you wouldn't be complaining and I can't think of anything that he said that hasn't been said on here hundreds of times including by me

I thought the inference from Pearce was that there is a declining group of players, uncertainty at Boardroom level, a history of behaving like a load of fannies in the transfer market notwithstanding COVID and two high profile names have walked from the job. It was but my comment was solely about the myth that potential managers would be lining up to take over as we pay £4.5m per year. Everything that Pearce said was what many of the supporters already believe to be the truth as either Parish has a masterplan that we know nothing about or else we will be paddling up the proverbial creek without a paddle

Worth a reminder that if we go down, or players will be leaving with no sell on value. Whereas Bournemouth who illegally wasted millions on young players are back in the playoff positions and have a squad that will help carry them for years. Similarly, Norwich, who've spent far less than us, have largely invested in young players with the future in mind.

One of Pearce's children is a Palace fan and this does show through in his knowledge of what is going on at the club compared to other commentators.

I think he is a Palace fan I used to sit behind him at games in the main stand this was at the start of his career when he didn't always have a game to comment on.

Pearce commentates on us and has for years. He is as qualified to have an opinion like all of us. Because some disagree doesn't make them wrong. When Pearce was with Capital he was based in Herne Hill. Although a Bristol City fan of his hometown club he clearly had an affection for us and disclosed once that his wife and child were season ticket holders. His family moved to Brighton so they could be Weed fans now

Was there with you on many occasions and could not believe how quiet he was knowing him as a very vocal commentator....often just whispering to the person next to him and never getting animated. Originally posted by Badger11
