It's not a rumour as Simon Jordan stated in the final chapter of his book that our whiter than white chairman colluded with the hedge fund to try and put Palace down so that the self styled "reluctant buyer" could grab it. Whilst Simon Jordan probably imparted a wedge of spin to some of his stories the same equally applies to Steve Parish Ignoring the fact that it was the day before liquidation surely?

In the 11 years of CPFC2010 there has only been one master plan with a coherent strategy that has worked and that is the way that Parish acquired the club as per the final chapter in Simon Jordan's book The second master plan that is partway to fruition is the upgrading of the academy to the top status in order to attract and develop the best talent from the local area. Time will tell if this has worked. Most of the other successes seem to be the result of luck in what I have called serendipity management. I was roundly derided years ago when I wondered out loud if we would have been promoted if it wasn't for the happy accident of having a young lad called Wilfried Zaha in our youth ranks. On occasions when we have had to dispense with managers due to the risk of relegation Parish has been fortunate to have anti relegation specialists like Pulis, Allardyce and Hodgson available to hire. Some of the transfer windows have been dreadful leaving us with huge gaps in our squad but by the biggest stroke of luck we have managed to survive. As you can see I am a sceptic when words and phrases like "master plans" and "strategy" are bandied about. If our next manager is to be Vieira and he is successful will it be down to a cleverly thought out strategy or just more of Parish's luck? I agree with a lot of what you say here, but would see the same facts as proof of a different conclusion. We need to distinguish between areas of a football club where solid long term plans can be made, and those where all but the richest clubs have to react and think on thier feet, whilst keeping in mind that every success story in football needs a bit of luck. The things that can be subject to a long term plan generally have been (infrastructure, DoF model, training ground, academy, new stand next). The rest is reactive by its nature. You can't have concrete long term plans for volatile things like the transfer market. Parish has never pretended not to have had any luck along the way - quite the opposite - but has frequently spoken of trying to make the most of any luck we have had, which he by and large has done. My theory is that somehow in your world it makes you superior to others not in your " position " Your faux sharing does not wash, neither does the " only passing on in good faith " angle. You have consistently been wrong. The great benefit of having a new manager appointed is that we can close this thread. Hopefully you will not then switch your attention to transfers. You are right that people can choose not to read your posts but you could assist there. Please stop, I don't believe anyone here views you as superior, rather deluded and somewhat to be pitied. Do you work in HR? Sounds like a bad worker's mid-year appraisal❤️💙

True but we often don't seem to have short term plans either like the time when we released all of our strikers except one and didn't replace any of them with either loans or purchases preferring instead to keep our fingers tightly crossed and the less said about allowing half of your squad to be out of contract at the same time the better

I don't consider the current contract situation to be the consequence of negligence at all.

He had run out of money and the club was living on borrowed cash. He had borrowed from a secondary lender as the big financial institutions would not lend to a football club and if the lenders had not called in the debt someone else would have done.

I doubt it as the only other major creditor was Jordan himself as he had reached agreement with HMRC

Again supposedly we have not posted our accounts on time and this again supports the notion that there is not an £80m pound budget available.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

He had tried to but HMRC has a fairly tough policy with all football clubs and the prompt payment of tax across the board after a host of issues arising in the past (for example with Rangers)

The book is very good it explains a lot people even if you do not like the guy should pick up a copy of it or the audiobook.

So, no news on a new manager then
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
