What about the fact that at the start of this thread he said it was Frank Lampard…..and prior to that it was Eddie Howe? And since Lampard it has also been a done deal on both NES and Favre??? The bloke’s a joke and his misinformation is extremely irritating and unhelpful. gets his info from big dave down the pub, who in turn got it from the sun gossip column.

What is being asked if for a third choice management and coaching team to assemble a Premier competitive team from the remnants of last season’s ageing squad together with presumably 3 or 4 new signings together with perhaps a couple of loans. I don’t see how how anybody can see this as some sort of master plan with a coherent strategy. In the 11 years of CPFC2010 there has only been one master plan with a coherent strategy that has worked and that is the way that Parish acquired the club as per the final chapter in Simon Jordan's book The second master plan that is partway to fruition is the upgrading of the academy to the top status in order to attract and develop the best talent from the local area. Time will tell if this has worked. Most of the other successes seem to be the result of luck in what I have called serendipity management. I was roundly derided years ago when I wondered out loud if we would have been promoted if it wasn't for the happy accident of having a young lad called Wilfried Zaha in our youth ranks. On occasions when we have had to dispense with managers due to the risk of relegation Parish has been fortunate to have anti relegation specialists like Pulis, Allardyce and Hodgson available to hire. Some of the transfer windows have been dreadful leaving us with huge gaps in our squad but by the biggest stroke of luck we have managed to survive. As you can see I am a sceptic when words and phrases like "master plans" and "strategy" are bandied about. If our next manager is to be Vieira and he is successful will it be down to a cleverly thought out strategy or just more of Parish's luck?

Couldn’t possibly be any other factors at work.

Add in overspending on wages far beyond our revenue in the league. It’s hardly strategic. No left back or striker etc is one thing, but Parish might be taking it too far with no manager. But, as ever, every week we have no manager and a dozen players light Parish is saving fortunes only for all of them to make the best of it when they’re finally in, after leaving them underprepared.

I know doombear and I’m inclined to agree with you on this one, as there is a lot of talk on the internet and social media about the PV announcement. As Monster Munch points out though, the timing and content of dazza’s updates NEVER actually seem to precede or elaborate on news already reported on the various Twitter feeds. You seem to expect a weekly update of the going ons at the club. This isnt issued by any other club, why should Palace. Did you bother to read my post? (I have assumed not). This is what I said in the second paragraph:- “I don’t harbour any expectations to hear company secrets, I don’t expect to receive their hit list nor hear about negotiations but I do believe that the club should attempt to calm us all down a bit with a comment to the effect that all is under control, player contracts are being dealt with, scouting continues etc.” That’s not a weekly update - that’s simply a request for “don’t worry, all under control” as I also said in that paragraph. Or are you saying that, as fans, we are not “entitled” to that?

Edited by Phil’s Barber (03 Jul 2021 10.03am) Seriously, why keep going on about it don’t read the messages then that way you won’t get irritated by them. No one is asking you believe them. You have choices in life now make yours & stop whining about the messages. Someone just posted what others have said how do you know they have not gleaned that from me? Just saying you should not Assume things?

But what part of the update you envisage can we not work out for ourselves?

Just saying you should not Assume things? Because unfortunately you always post after it’s hit mainstream media. Take a look at my recent examples. When you’ve got pretty much every prediction wrong you should maybe vett your information a little more thoroughly than making defined predictions. Football fans take info on their club seriously and your recycling of information is not helpful when there’s already a lot of dissatisfaction for the club. If you are prepared to put yourself out there again and again with information then you should be prepared to take the criticism. Your track record is very poor so not sure what you are expecting. It’s obvious Twitter is your source. It’s a shame those on here fuel your ego trip which actually is not helpful for you.
