Do we have to pay to enter then?

Probably yes, but more importantly we do want to expose the team to further age related injuries in a season where we will be fighting for PL survival with such a thin squad of quality players!

A lot of people have been talking about ‘bouncing back’ and provided well known examples such as German beating Brazil 7-1 and Villa beating Liverpool 7-2. Another I’d like to mention is Southampton losing 9-1 (?) to Leicester only last season.

I think that result galvanised them as a club, they got behind the manager and look at them now.

There’s no point moping around. We will see a reaction Vs Villa, the players alone will be embarrassed about today, their egos and pride will be hurting.

If you think we will suddenly turn out like Southampton after yesterday then forget it... They have a young, hungry manager who likes to play good football with young, hungry players... A million miles away from us.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Think yesterday was quite easy to write off, personally. Strange how we found ourselves 3-0 down and once they were free, it was always going to be ugly.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Could not believe the poor player ratings in the press it is hard to take, the neutrals ratings are the worst I can ever recall, even Zaha has been rated as three and Eze as four unbelievable!

Exe tried hard but totally ineffective and wilf had a a shocker as put in a very poor shift.Ayew made some shocking decisions which if he had managed to sort would have produced a couple of first half goals and a different game.

The game was lost by halftime. Roy should of yanked the likes of Wilf then. nothing wrong with subbing a player at half time if needs must. Look at Moyes on Wednesday, brought on Lanzini, who turned the game for them, earning them a point. Not Roy's way though. Klopp a month or so ago bemoaned the heavy fixtures/short time frames, specifically sighting this game. In fact it was us that looked leggy and doubt he would be complaining now. Let's hope the negative of this thrashing can be turned into positives over the next couple of games. Must be some changes, if not just to rest up a few.

In contrast to Fulham's magnificent effort against Liverpool last weekend,we capitulate to our heaviest home defeat in our club history which is a total humiliation, dress it up how you like.
It happened to Southampton against Leicester last season, served as a wake-up call and they have not looked back since. Will we respond in the same way??

This sort of a result was always a possibility because:

1 The average age of the squad is such that we cannot play 3 games a week with the intensitiy levels we have to put in, even with 2 or 3 changes. It doesn't matter how fit you are you still get tired. The older you are the longer the recover period. This also happens with players at a very young age who still haven't devloped the muscle stamina. (I know this from playing local league football from age 16 to 36) Eze definately looked tired from the start.

2. The depth of the squad with players of the same ability is just not there so we will always be at the mercy of high quality squads with lots of international level replacements.

3. We needed the Liverpool match to be the first of these three matches and Tottenham the second. Unfortunately the Fixture computer was not kind to us.

4. Kouyate is not a centre back and this was very obvious yesterday. PVA is not a left back . At one point he was marking the penalty spot and the Liverpool winger was on the touchline. Absolutely clueless abou correct positioning and should watch videos of Ward, Clyne and Mitchell to learn about positioning although I believe this comes naturally to most full backs. I know Roy likes to play narrow but that does not mean being near the penalty spot.

5. Luka has been great for us but was never quick and is now definately embarrassingly slow. Left his man in the penalty area after initially marking him and then asked who was marking him when the player scored.

We have got freshen up the squad considerably wth some younger, pacey players if we are to stay in the prem.

I am determined to live until I am as old as I look.

Southampton had a player sent off after 12 minutes and played over 80 minutes of the match with ten men. You can’t compare that to us yesterday with a full team on the pitch.

Despite the fact that they equalised they still missed some absolute sitters which was a joy to watch.

A draw against bottom of the league playing against 10 men for around an hour will probably leave them feeling as disappointed as us yesterday.
