I understand that Roy has “kept us up” in the PL with no budget, but to what end? So we can all watch the same turgid, crap football week in, week out... but at least we’re in the PL... Who wants to watch? The soul of the club’s being slowly killed year on year. It’s becoming just an investment vehicle to pay wildly inflated salaries to some incredibly poor, unmotivated performers (take your pick), devoid of passion or care for the club. Please, someone, bring back a reason to watch the club play. Players with passion, who care, who want to wear the shirt, and prepared to give it a go. Good post. Yesterday was even worse than Burnley. What's happened to the side that won at Man U and got a draw at Man City? Two incidents yesterday summed up this season under Hodgson: 1. At half-time we had created precious little and were losing and he had to take off the injured McArthur. So instead of trying to be more attacking or even change formation, he just brings on the awful McCarthy in yet another like-for-like change. 2. When Luka just ran over and pushed Grealish two-handed to get a yellow. How can that guy be captain of the club when he does stupid things like that? Our midfield three of Luka, Kouyate and McArthur must be the worst in the PL by far and perhaps one of our worst midfields ever. No creativiity and an inability to pass the ball 5 yards.

You blame our manager for how his players are letting him down.

I Benteke had scored yesterday with just one of his decent opportunities and Sakho's good honest attempt at heading the ball had been properly allowed to stand everyone on here would be saying we did OK, of course goals make all the difference but to suggest our team were as bad as many are saying means that they created nothing which is nonsense, A very bad defending moment leaves a player free at the back to score followed by a fortunate bounce for their second, we aren't the best footballing side in the world ..shock horrors but we did manage to outplay Bournemouth six games ago against a side that somehow managed to score four against a team sitting in third place ..sums up what I'm trying to write perfectly.

questions need to be asked about Atkinson and Moss, both vehemently anti Palace anti Zaha....how was Grealish not booked for his dying swan dive, we all know Atkinson would have booked Zaha for the same thing in fact he has done (before VAR proved the foul and Atkinson was made to look an idiot).....and Moss is a fat unfit clown, surely unfit to even VAR ref any match...they are both as anti Palace as Clattenberg ever was, yet still we keep getting them... That was desperate even allowing for the bad luck with the VAR decision. Here are the ratings... Guiata 7, Ward 2, Dann 7, Sakho 7, van Aanholt 3, Luka 1, Jimmy Mac 4, Kouyate 5, Wilf 4, Benteke 6, Ayew 5. Was your minus key stuck ?

Edited by the silurian (13 Jul 2020 10.41am) My thoughts exactly. Atkinson n looks to book Wilf at any opportunity and it does appear we get little from him. Would be interesting to see stats for the games he has reffed. Edited by Spiderman (13 Jul 2020 1.00pm)

My comments resulted in far too many of those dastardly 'Willo threads' where I was accused of all and sundry and even got a 'Yellow', so I leave the debate to others on such matters.

We had Atkinson at Liverpool the other week where he gave them everything - what happened to having a pool of refs?

the bloke is an out and out cheat where we are concerned, check out Wilfs booking v t***ford....Wilf is fouled and gets booked for it ! Unbelievable refereeing by an unbelievably awful ref...needs looking into as he may even be corrupt as well as hopeless.... FFS he cant even abide by the rules if its against us, and to think he gets paid loads of money to be utterly useless every week PS I dont think we lost because of him BUT Sakhos perfectly legitimate goal may have made a difference.BUT then along comes Moss another anti Palace ref and disallows it for 'shoulderball' a new law he made up just for us Edited by the silurian (13 Jul 2020 4.12pm) Edited by the silurian (13 Jul 2020 4.15pm)

So you reckon the standard of refereeing is OK then? Now your buddy Clattenberk has gone you can have Atkinson/Moss/Oliver as your heros??
