All these lefty pigs are inadvertently racist.

Holding different religions and foreign practices to a lower social/moral standard because "that's just their culture" is the very definition of racism.

Shouting down others for treating people equally is just bizarre. I think it's rooted in fear and ignorance. Better to be on board with the backwards practices than challenge it.

The recent débâcle with Danny Baker comes to mind.
When he posted the infamous picture, he said, and I believe him, that he did not make an association between monkeys and black people.
But the people crying racist did make that association.
So where does the racism truly lay?

As the rather pointed quote goes, 'If you want to see who controls you, see who you can't criticise'.

And like you, I don't even think Baker was doing what the left accused him of......some of them did the 'context doesn't matter' line.....However, when it comes to their views...suddenly the context matters a lot.

That's not a racist remark! It is though a very stupid one, as it cannot possibly be true for many reasons.

No it isn't. It's just wrong.

Shouting down others for treating people equally is just bizarre. I think it's rooted in fear and ignorance. Better to be on board with the backwards practices than challenge it.

Shouting down anyone, for any reason, is always bizarre. It shows you have run out of both patience and reasoned argument.

Does saying 'picanninies' with 'watermelon smiles' indicate a racist?

I should add, in fairness, that I am sure there are plenty of racist quotes from Labour MP's regarding Jewish people and I have strong doubts over Corbyn regarding this. However the quotes from BJ and others he has made are very worrying if he is to become PM.

John Denver was often (if not usually) described as having a 'watermelon smile'.

Indeed but BJ said this in the same article:

‘It is said that the Queen has come to love the Commonwealth, partly because it supplies her with regular cheering crowds of flag-waving piccaninnies.’

‘No doubt the AK47s will fall silent, the pangas will stop their hacking of human flesh, and the tribal warriors will all break out in watermelon smiles to see the big white chief touch down in his big white British taxpayer-funded bird.’

Also at different times:

‘Right, let’s go and look at some more piccaninnies.’

Boris accused Barack Obama of having an ‘ancestral dislike of the British empire’ because he’s ‘part-Kenyan’

I'm no Tory but surely there must be someone better than this to lead them and the country.

I don't see anything wrong with that comment and it may well have been true.

If we want a Prime Minister who has never said anything politically incorrect why not get Theresa May back again

You want to choose your Press more carefully. What about Tom Penn makes you think he is a she?

Maybe you were thinking of one of the other neighbours who were alarmed by the row.

I knew that would get a bite from you as it summarises your character almost to perfection.

Some of the stuff you either excuse or are actively on board with. Shameful.

As predicted some of the papers are now investigating the neighbours. There is some confusion over who called the police one report said the police received 3 separate complaints others that it was a husband and wife.

Tom Penn recorded and later sold / gave the story to the Guardian after being told by the police that there was no issue. He is now upset about the publicity he and his wife are getting. Well boo hoo you made a conscious decision to insert yourself into the political process so if the public has a right to know about BJ's personal life they certainly have a right to know about his accusers.

As I said the other day I don't blame anyone for calling the police or even recording it I do criticise them for involving the media after having been told by the police there was no problem.

What difference does time make? He shows he has form for saying (believing?) these things.

2004 - Allowed this to be published when he was editor of The Spectator - "The Scotch" as "a verminous race", adding: "It's time Hadrian's Wall was refortified.

"To pen them in a ghetto on the other side. I would go further. The nation deserves not merely isolation. But comprehensive extermination."

2018 - Regarding Muslim women - In the £275,000-a-year column he wrote it was "absolutely ridiculous" that "people should choose to go around looking like letter boxes".

2008 - allowed this to be published in The Spectator - 'Orientals ... have larger brains and higher IQ scores. Blacks are at the other pole.'
