I don't doubt the cladding is a major reason but I have a feeling the lack of fire containing materials inside between floors is actually where the cause of death lies. Obviously we don't know yet but the cladding would've burned up one side, on the outside. The lack of containing materials covered every square metre inside.

Independent news article about the block from MPs to update laws on housing originally from the 19th.. Yes 19th century... Open the trapdoor and let some of these b******s swing. And throwing in the leftie argument.. No . People who work hard just want somewhere decent and safe to live and bring their kids up..

This has been shown as incorrect. The mirror has run an article today refuting these claims. However I do understand why people would think the number is being leaked little by little to 'soften' the blow a bit I hope so michaela, just som, ething i was told, but hope youre right!

I think, I don't know obviously, you may be wrong. Eyewitnesses said the fire spread out a kitchen window from this fridge which allegedly exploded which was next to the window and went straight up the building like a piece of paper being set alight. It then broke Windows and came into other flats and floors of the building from the outside. Seen a video posted this morning taken from INSIDE one of the fire engines which went to the scene. All the guys in the cab were saying in a state of shock how the hell is this fire going up the outside of the building. They couldn't believe what they were seeing and that's before they set foot inside what can only be likened to hell on earth.

I hope so michaela, just som, ething i was told, but hope youre right! I must admit something doesn't sit quite right with it. Survivors who got out of the building have allto described the amount of bodies they saw or stepped on and over in the stair wells. They would be the first areas to be cleared in order for the fire services to get up to the floors which are safe to access so I do wonder why the count appears to be so low at the moment. Also a 'D' from what I read isn't legally enforceable. Given what appears to have gone on in the lead up to this I am absolutely convinced at least one paper out there would have run the true story of numbers if there was one. Quite strange. Think people would just prefer honesty at the moment

Another 'leftie' jumping to conclusions before the detailed enquiry results have been published as part of the 'Anti-Tory' campaign. Whatever next ? McDonnell urging people to take to the streets following the election result ? Oh actually...... Let's wait for the findings of the enquiry - those who have played a part in this tragedy should face the consequences and of course I will not defend any Tories who are implicated.

Edited by Willo (17 Jun 2017 11.08am) Regardless of what started it or who is to blame , why reports weren't acted on and who is stirring the pot calling people to get out on the street. FACT remains that working fire alarms and a sprinkler system could have helped save people's lives. Maybe not everyone but some. What part of that is so bloody hard to fathom. Whether it's Labour, conservative or a combo of both which it probably is why aren't more people angry about this. Those people died there like caged f***ing animals. Begging in some cases for their lives in absolute sheer terror. Those who survived will be haunted by this for the rest of their life. This is 21st century Britain not 19th century in the third world. What do you have to say about mps many of them from your party voting AGAINST updates to legislation originally designed for 19th century Britain. Come on.

Why did it take Theresa May 3 or 4 days to promise help. How come the community and locals seem to have more of a grip on what to do and organise than the government? Attachment: IMG_20170617_111848.jpg (45.87Kb)

So there are NOT those of 'Leftie' political persuasion on HOL and outside just seeking to blame Tories without the detailed enquiry being concluded ? I would NOT be surprised if those not connected to the tragedy are just taking to the streets in 'Rent-a-mob' style to spew their anti-Tory rhetoric. McDonnell is rather parttial to his supporters taking to the streets! I'm waiting for the findings of the enquiry and NOT apportioning blame without receipt of all the facts.

Typical leftie tactics. Need to get out now in the sunshine ! No, I won't be taking to the streets with a ridiculous political banner.
