Personally I’m not so knowledgeable about the available managers so actually would be interested. Where’s that football poster from the other year who posted about players. He would have the info

I'm in the keep Roy camp too. Who would change my mind? Arne Slot but he has just signed a 1 year extension at Feyenoord.

Sounds like it might be Roy and Ray for one more season with Paddy being part of the coaching team?

This is just opinion of a journalist doesnt have any facts to it. Rubbish source too. That website is always making up stories . I really think we should find a long term manager. Roy did well in the time he had back but it could turn very sour next season like it did towards the end of his last reign. I keep reading pepole saying we’re save with Hodgson. We’re really not. Give him the run vieira had he would have struggled. Hodgson was very lucky with the fixtures we had. Not saying vieira didn’t deserve to be sacked though cause he did. It can very easily become a disaster. League will be a lot more harder next season and will continue to get harder each season. As for paddy very stupid if we give him the chance this early in his coaching. He needs to go to a championship club / league one club and learn his trade there. This mentor talk is pathetic. They have two different ways of playing. The premier league isn’t to be messed around in

Why will it? I would expect that, as with any other year, the 'top' clubs will sit at the top, the weakest will go down and the rest of us will hover about fighting for the odd place or 2 up or down in the middle. It has ever been thus and I can't see why next year would be any different.

Towards the end of the season I felt it was likely that Roy would be signing a new one year contact.
Now I have my doubts as if this was the intention I believe the deal would already be in place.
Of course it’s possible that we are pursuing other managerial targets with Roy as a standby choice if we can’t get these targets.
However, this seems an unlikely scenario and would surely not be a situation that Roy would be comfortable with.

I don't think Roy is a class act. He's done very well the last two months. The thought of moulding someone to be like him at Palace fills me with dread and boredom.

Go on wikipedia and read his CV, you might learn something

Yes in terms of what position has to be gained in order to stay in the division it doesn’t change, but the standards being set in order to survive have increased.
People might disagree with me on this, but for me Palace are a much better side now than even five seasons back yet even if we go back to when we first entered the Premier league , our points tallies have never really changed much. So there is an argument that you must improve merely to stand still.

Absolutely true. I hope the ffp begins to make a difference but the big clubs will always find a way round

Agreed, With the added bonus of Sheffield United needing to clear large debts from last time they were in the Prem (and wont be spending) As well as Luton needing to spend nearly half their transfer budget on stadium improvements I can see only one relegation place to avoid as long as Palace plays as well and consistently as we can.

Dont forget Evertons possible points deduction

If it is Roy again, which wouldn't be completely disasterous, don't expect the bench to be exactly overrunning with young players from our much-vaunted academy.
He won't have any sort of 'war chest' though because Mr P loves doing everything on the cheap, so expect our 3 up and coming prospects Ward, Clyne and Tomkins to get extensions.
