I would add that Liverpool had 14 attempts on goal in the game with 8 on target. Compare to the Spurs game they had 14 attempts on goal with 6 on target. We weren’t ranting and raving last Sunday. We just have to applaud how clinical were today. Edited by Bexley Eagle (19 Dec 2020 7.24pm) Not accounting for Guiata's World class saves or the amount of extra space Liverpool seemed to have for their goals.

Quite clearly Boris is a Palace fan, rolling out such major news on the day we get stuffed 7-0 👍

As clinical as Liverpool were our defending was abysmal. 1 Kouyate allowing Mane to set Minamino up 2. A few weak effort to clear then Clyne brushed aside by Mane 3. CBs go awol for Firmino to waltz in unchalleged. 4. Henderson allowed to stroll untracked from midfield 5. Salah has all the time in the world to find Firmino who has got on the wrong side of Clyne 6. Cahill outjumped at a corner. 7. Nuff said

One final comment for those with short memory we stuck 5 past a 10 man West Brom. But tonight Newcastle never looked like beating a 10 man Fulham.

Anyone else think Wilf has been one of our worst players last couple of games? In a team of underperformers today I feel like his performance stood out as especially poor. I think shows we still rely on him firing for us to get goals. Of course a lot more wrong than just one player today but just my observation

He's had opportunities in various roles and has been found to be too lightweight for this league. Yes he has skills but he doesn't fit either our system or this league. As for Howe, Bournemouth spent many tens of millions on players for him and he still managed to get them relegated. Hopefully he has learnt from that experience and would be a better manager in the future, but not sure I want him to prove that is so with Palace.

You have to be philosophical about games like that. After their first goal we were by far the better team but made nothing of our temporary advantage. If you get a result like that against a team in the lower half of the table you could justify the angst, but that was an ultra clinical performance by a top team. We were just unfortunate to be the team on the wrong end of their best performance for weeks.

Well, if you say End Of, that's all their is to be said. Newcastle aren't really the concern for those hoping we just stay up and do no more. The team in 18th is the one to watch out for. Fulham were in that position at the start of the day. They've now picked up 6 points from their last 5 included Liverpool, Leicester, and Man City. They had everything go against them today and still picked up a point, away from home, against a team that recently beat us. They're trajectory is improving, ours has flat lined.

We were ball watching for 5 of the goals, how much time and space did we give them?

My real disappointment is the way we drop away in effort when things go wrong, same thing happened v Chelsea. My Saturday had me on cloud 9 when we rolled India for 36 but I was soon reminded of the ups and downs a few hours later. Let's move on.

These logical deductions A beats B and and B beats C so A is better than C were used by my long gone father to proove that the local team of the hamlet he was born would always comfortably outbeat Rapid Vienna to wind me up as a kid following Rapid. He did it with a smile in his face so I assume he was well aware that his local team playing in tier 8 usually wouldn't stand a chance against Rapid.
