Yep, and I'm sick and tired about hearing how well Everton are doing, our game against them had nothing to do with them beating us at all and in actual fact we had them in that second half, the Chelsea game was full of nasty niggling fouls from them and us defending in the second half like the boys brigade in a hurricane and as you say today if the offside was just a cm back it would've been in the bag.

As bad as we were today, Roy did not send the players out to play that badly so they need to take the blame also. He did send them out to hit Brighton on the counter attack as that is where they are vulnerable. If Bats delayed that run by a mili second we would have went on to win the game but that doesn’t take away from the fact that we were absolutely awful and deserved nothing from that game.

I have resigned myself to the fact that this is going to be an awful season because of Covid so the only thing I care about is that we stay up.

For me it was a poor game to watch. However it took a mistake from Ward and a deflection to get through our defence. Despite all the lauded Brighton attacking flair they got nowhere with it. Our real issue was not the Managers tactics but the players inability to pass th3 ball in attacking situations. I understand the dissatisfaction with our defensive set up but when combined with quick breaks it is very effective but when going forward our passing fails it makes the set up look poor. However our defensive set up earned us yet another point.COYP

I'm sure we have had worse starts to the season? ;-)

2 wins, 2 losses and a draw ain't bad at all!

If I wanted to watch good football every week I'd start following Liverpool / man city! We have always played crap football bar the season we got promoted and then some time under pardew! In my opinion anyway!

Win some we loose some, we win 5 in row we loose 5 in row! Draw the odd few games! We go a couple of games without conceding them somtimes we can't score or defend!

I am quite happily enjoying our best years in the prem.

Pretty much my take too.

Hodgson appears to be happy with a draw as we were resilient defensively.

I was in a public house tonight and a couple of supporters (Whom I have never seen before), were very vocal in their criticism of Hodgson. There was a degree of profanity amongst their ordure.
My dear wife who has had to put up with my foam-flecked frenzy about our performance, implored me NOT to join their debate.

This made me laugh ,my wife would do the same

I pray Roy shows some positivity next week against Fulham as that is a must and should be win game

Fulham looked good today . very adventurous against Sheff. United and only Mitrovic's issues in both penalty areas stopped them winning. Lookman will likely give Ward a very hard time

It’s such a shame. We are going through our most successful period as a club but by doing it Roys way is soul destroying. He will get us to crawl over the line. Parish will happily accept it as many have said as long as he achieves this. We all know this doesn’t mean we should accept it as fans. Totally unforgivable performance from Roy yesterday. I’d want answers as to that approach if I were Parish. He can’t blame the lack of squad depth. Anyway.. on to the next fingers crossed Roy will have a change of heart (lol).

It's not all bad news Lewis Dunk got sent off so misses 3 games for them.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Government for preventing me from having any chance of attending the game yesterday.

We all knew that with the 2 distinctly opposite playing styles, Brighton would have more of the ball and it's not how much possession you have, it's about what you do with it. And therein lies yesterdays problem - rarely stringing more than 2 passes together especially in the opposition's half.

Even had we have held out for the 1-0, it wouldn't have felt like a satisfactory win even against Brighton. It hurts when you play a lower mid table team like Brighton and make them look better than they truly are.

I've defended Roy on here for the last few years, but it's difficult to defend that performance and those tactics when Hodgson himself says pre match that he now has the strongest squad since he joined.

One thing that hasn't changed is the club's No.1 priority and seemingly their sole ambition - staying in the Premier League. Roy has the track record of achieving that objective and I don't see Parish getting into a Bloom / Hughton / Potter scenario.

Problem being we played like yesterday against Chelsea and shipped 4 goals in. Brighton are a far worse team than Chelsea and would have won if they had players like Chelsea to put the 20 chances they made away. Guitia kicked the ball continuously upfield to no one until Benteke came on for the last few minutes. The tactics throughout was awful and Hodgson never changed it and I doubt he would have even if Brighton had equalised earlier?
