Brentford are superbly run.

Their ambition is to achieve Premiership football while remaining sustainable.

That means identifying good, young players that they can develop and sell on at handsome profits.

I do question though if they did get promoted, whether they would be another Norwich...I hope we get the chance to find out.

You could argue that no responsible chairman would have offered the manager a 12 month deal given that the squad overhaul needed is going to take longer than that.

I think it was an insurance policy so he wasnt left high and dry.

I'm not sure it's a fair comparison. In the Championship we made a series of fantastic signs. Jedi, Deleany, Murray, Yala, Ward.

Brentford will certainly have to invest to stay up, if they go up. If they stay up for a few seasons, then would be the point to compare transfer strategies

I'm not. My comments were referencing Brentford's policy, nothing to do with Palace

This is why I mentioned it's not a fair comparison Neillo.

We got out of the championship on a shoe string.

I overheard a conversation in a local establishment tonight concerning Roy Hodgson and a rotund supporter bellowed out "He's got to go".This was met with universal approval by those in his company.

I was in company with my dear wife and friends and stayed well clear of that debate!

I hear from a reliable source that SP is seeking a suitable replacement for RH SP is less than impressed with what he has viewed with his own eyes In the most recent games Hodgson wants experienced older heads in this window whereas as Parish wants youth and fresh ideas Less RH has a miracle win later today and a change of heart he will be not our manager next season

It's really quite remarkable. All Hodgson and the team had to do was to seriously target 8 out the 24 points available at the start of this awful run and things would be quite different - a season end with 50 points, hearty cheers all round, and the next season to look to with positivity. Instead a "we're safe, no need to bother" attitude exemplified by some truly lacklustre performances which suggests the manager has lost the players. Where did it all go wrong?

The Daily Mail isn't a reliable source.

neither is the Sunday Mirror. The following per the Beeb this am

"Crystal Palace are targeting Burnley's Sean Dyche as their next manager, with Roy Hodgson's future in doubt after a poor run of form. (Sunday Mirror)"
