Regards KWP this smack of Levy he loves to take it to the wire and wring every last penny out iof a deal. The problem as Spurs fans will tell you is that often he over plays his hand so the deal never happens or it happens so late that Spurs don't have time to sign a replacement (Bale).

Now KWP maybe surplus to requirement but Mourinho may need the money for a different type of player. It wouldn't surprise me if this happens on the last day.

Here's my thoughts on the transfer situation.
I strongly believe Palace have massively over paid player wages in the last few years. As a result, we have little capacity to bring perm players into the payroll. Util we offload Benteke, Meyer, Sakho and yes Zaha too, we are unable to move forward as a club and make meaingful transfers. Priority should be offloading these players that don't fit into our pay structure, this for the good of the club.

This hits it on the head massively.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

As painful as this seems this may well be the way forward to produce a cohesive sustainable upper mid table team.

Hodgson has secured survival thus far and it is the model of plausibility that we will survive this season. The "Hodgson Way" has worked.

If we still have the same ownership next season , there is no significant injection of funds and Hodgson is still in situ we can expect the same from our team in terms of style and entertainment value.
Hodgson has done a commendable job in the circumstances and is deserving of plaudits for the fact we are still ploughing our furrow in the PL on the back of a lack of significant support in the transfer market. We are certainly a hard watch but one has to admire the organisataion and discipline and the attitude of the players.

Totally agree with Hodgson's brilliance against a backdrop of a lack of backing in the transfer window.
Even some City fans were calling for Pep's dismissal and for Hodgson's installation as temporary manager on the Football phone in last night!!

So Roy has categorically ruled out Benteke leaving on loan, says he is short in midfield so it’s extremely unlikely the McCarthy rumours are true, and KWP clearly isn’t ‘done’.

Dazza I’m not questioning you, but whoever your ITK mate is, I’d take what he tells you with a pinch of salt.

What with Ward back from injury, Riedewald showing he can do a job and Kelly as backup for RB, along with our league position and form, I fear there will be no more transfers in this window for Palace. As sad as that is, I'd be surprised if anyone other than 1 or 2 youngsters came in.

You may well be right. after all, the January transfer window is often the one for panic buying by clubs seeking to avoid relegation or those who are falling short of demanding expectations, and prices become inflated.
Furthermore, Roy's post-match comments revealed that he is pleasantly surprised by how well players stepping in for injured regulars have performed (I assume he means especially Jairo and James McCarthy). Also reading between the lines, he is expecting to field Tosun for all the remaining games (apart from Everton, of course).
in view of all this it would not surprise if the board decide to limit the clubs activity to bringing a couple of youngsters and waiting till the summer to do any first team business.
