Indeed I fall into this category. An ERG "Spartan" content to adopt a "Nonsensical position" (Your phrasiology) with no intention of changing my mind as you have no intention of changing yours. Indeed,a fixed opinion unable to consider alternative viewpoints and just looking for those opinions which confirm your own bias. This is fine as we all have firm views, but I really don't think it is right and proper to accuse others, in negative terms, of adopting a similar stance. Apropos "Few weeks to save the UK", straight from the Labour manifesto of yesteryear in relation to the NHS and they continue with their scaremongering hogwash as they have nothing positive to spout. In actual fact few years to save the UK from this zombie, sclerotic Parliament hell-bent on preventing Brexit. I wish you well concentrating your efforts elsewhere where "Fertile minds" can be changed and you will spend your time in more "Productive ways".Time will tell of course if rhetoric matches reality and you really disappear into the ether. I can assure you my "Fertile" mind will not be changed, I am "Gummed" to my position.
Whilst I will ignore the other responses for being at the predictable and under moderated level I have come to expect here I think I ought to respond to yours. Actually you don't fall into "that" category! I disagree with your politics but you are respectful and polite. There are others on here who back in the 1930s would have been wearing black shirts and marching with Oswald Mosley. It's those who I cannot tolerate and who I think all decent people, including yourself, ought to oppose vehemently. The problem is that they don't recognise this in themselves. I won't name names, as they ought to be obvious. Add to that the standard of "moderation" which is so biased as to be a joke and you might begin to understand why a moderate like me thinks there are better ways at the moment to spend my time than on here. I too will be out on the doorsteps soon. But not for the Tory Party. They have left me.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

I accept that my opinions and political leaning might differ from others but I always seek to argue my case free from personal slurs and rancour. Debate can at times become febrile rather than saccarine with gladitorial hostility order of the day and suave blandishments not in evidence.Of course high-grade ordnance can get dropped on those who take an alternative viewpoint and who have ruffled feathers but I suppose this adds to the rich tapestry of discussion both within and outside a website. Apropos 'Doorsteps', I have already ploughed my furrow in this direction and will continue to do so and I am delighted to report that support for my party has been overwhelming! I wish you a pleasant day.

We haven’t heard Corbyn’s undeliverable promises yet to damage the Tories in the polls. Actually we have, at their conference, but they were so ridiculous everyone has forgotten. Reducing the working week on equal pay was a cracker. Might work in offices, but not in, erm, working class manual jobs. Funny how we get called idiots for voting leave when real idiots vote these fools.

Conservative members usually give their honest assessment of our prospects and I have spoken to vast numbers over the years. At times some have been very despondent and doomsters.
