Yes the defense showed that their age doesnt mean squat. A good display from all the back four.

Aye we had mad spell at end of the 70s team of the 80s all tosh of course. Sir Bert Head, Sir Steve had us right hand working difficult to beat with a pair of flying wingers which hopefully a striker can latch on to Originally posted by Cucking Funt
Anyone expecting Palace to win and to win prettily is probably supporting the wrong club. We've never exactly been a delight to watch over the years.

Thanks for sharing. And while I agree that he's an absolute gentleman, top bloke and earned his status as a legend of the game, his time managing our club is hopefully up. I'd too love to see him bow out having led us to our highest finish. Can't see it. But it would be a fairytale finish for a great manager for us. I wouldn't like to see anyone retire on a low but at the end of this season it will be time to move on. Just three more wins (including an emphatic one over Liverpool with Wilf, Benteke, Mats and Bats each scoring a hat trick) will be sufficient to mark his success. Roy will go when the time is right, then we will get some young, dynamic, high pressing game thought minded manager in. We will then be a middle of the table Championship side looking at the years we spent in the Premiership. Does anyone think Eddie Howe will cut it, because I don’t? He was in line for the job some years ago and turned it down and f***ed off to Burnley. I don’t want him to come to us and f*** off when the going gets tough, which is what he will do.

Actually no, you seem to have conveniently (& probably deliberately) ignored the post. Let me just recap: We have our highest ever points tally at this stage of a Premier League season. Roy delivered our highest ever points tally in a Premier League season. He is the only manager to keep us comfortably clear of relegation since we came up. He is the only manager to have brought through academy players to Premier League football. 3 academy players to be precise. 2 very successfully. He has worked on a budget of next to nothing. He has the highest aged squad in the league. This has absolutely nothing to do with one game. The one game tonight, yes, we nicked it but so what? You have to nick games at all levels of professional football. As far as tonight goes, this was approached as a must not lose. And when you've lost 2 on the spin in very poor fashion and have the drum nonces down at the training ground fresh from the arts & craft shop - it was imperative we avoided defeat. And guess what? We did avoid defeat and we hung in long enough to nick it at the death. 3 points added to our total tally & I'll repeat - our highest ever points tally at this stage of a Premier League season. What winds me up is the hysteria & nonsense surrounding the whole affair. Roy has done a better job than anyone before him in the Premier League for us without any tantrums. And he deserves far more respect for his contribution than this. Edited by Mstrobez (22 Feb 2021 10.43pm) So true, whether we play well or bad, the main thing is the results. Our best ever premier league season and fans want him out. Crazy!!!

Now just bloody shut up you 'Outers'. Sure, it wasn't pretty last night, but you should look to the players for an improvement, not the manager. We're as good as certain to be in the Premiership next season. Let Roy do his job till the end of his contract then politely thank him for all he's done for our club and wave him goodbye and good luck in his retirement.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Glad we won but the Manager has to go. Short and sweet and totally correct. If it was a master class in anything it was how to convince 10 men to defend like their lives depended on it and I applaud them for that. But the rest of it was utter garbage. We make average teams look like world beaters week in week out.

Last night must have been a slap in the face for the Out Brigade. No evidence of a ' lost ' dressing room. No evidence of disinterested players. A win against our bitter rivals achieved without Zaha. Of course the usual complaints about tactics, set up etc., how much sweeter would it have been for you if we had lost by three or four. In a results business, I know who I would rather be this morning out of Potter and Hodgson....
