I believe some of the teams below is can get to 38 pts.
We have conceded 47 goals this season, the most number of goals after WBA, and our 'Goal Difference' is inferior to that of Southampton, Brighton,Burnley and Fulham.

If we are in a relegation scrap them so are Wolves and Leeds. Should be an exciting end to a season for once.

I don't share your positivity given that our remaining fixtures include games against Chelsea,Leicester,Man C,Everton,Arsenal and Liverpool.
I accept Liverpool are in a slump but I do expect them to do better at Anfield in their remaining games.

Both Fulham and Brighton have won 5 games each all season and Brighton have won 2 games at home in 2 years. We have got through a shocking injury spell without even coming close to relegation spots. We now have Zaha and Schlupp back followed by a 3 week break which should help our fatigued squad. We will not be getting relegated.

Is there any reason to keep this thread going ?

Waiting for mathematical certainty is IMHO meaningless

Both Wolves and Leeds have 35 pts and better goal differences, Wolves -9, Leeds -1, and Leeds have 2 games in hand.

Next Friday Newcastle are at home to an A.Villa team who have only won 1 of their last 5 games and only scored 2 goals in those games.

On Saturday Fulham play at home to Man C who have a home game against Southampton this Wednesday so not too many days between their games.

On Sunday it is Southampton v Brighton and as I have posted above, Southampton are at Man C on Wednesday.

Yep. But we are as likely to go down as them.

BTW, do you have your all your effects and assets in order, just in case you get relegated?

Just asking

I'm sure Southampton will rest themselves somewhat for Man.C ready to give Brighton a good seeing to and as far as Fulham is concerned I wouldn't be surprised if they overtook us anyway, Newcastle are all over the place.

After 8 seasons and £1bn through the coffers Palace will crawl over the finishing line with a series of scintillating 0-0 results, just pipping Sheffield United, West Bromwich Albion, and Newcastle United.
Roy Hodgson will announce his retirement and the fans will rejoice. A wing of the new stadium will be named "The Hodgson Wing" and a statue will be erected at the entrance.
And it shall be, Amen.
