Humiliated by a team that only managed to draw at Brighton and Fulham.

I feel that if today they'd played these two (not at the same time mind) they'd have had very similar results.

Just watched the second half of the Citeh game, and saw them squander at least 4 chances, all of which were comparable to those which Liverpool finished. Liverpool were freakishly – absurdly – clinical today.

Indeed they were. I believe they scored with there first 5 reasonable chances. They missed a couple in the second half but overall it was a clinical performance.

It’s done. Let’s just move on and prove it was a freak result next weekend against Villa

I would add that Liverpool had 14 attempts on goal in the game with 8 on target. Compare to the Spurs game they had 14 attempts on goal with 6 on target. We weren’t ranting and raving last Sunday. We just have to applaud how clinical were today.

A lot of people have been talking about ‘bouncing back’ and provided well known examples such as German beating Brazil 7-1 and Villa beating Liverpool 7-2. Another I’d like to mention is Southampton losing 9-1 (?) to Leicester only last season.

I think that result galvanised them as a club, they got behind the manager and look at them now.

There’s no point moping around. We will see a reaction Vs Villa, the players alone will be embarrassed about today, their egos and pride will be hurting.

I'm pretty sure Roy was told that if he wasn't more attacking this year he was out, sadly a back four 0f over 30 doesn't lend itself to attacking footballer

I never understand why Roy insists on playing players in positions that they don't like eg

Max Meyer out wide
Schlupp Centre Forward
Wilf out wide
Time to bring Eddie Howe in, we all know Parish loves his approach

I find the idea that Parish and DF would try to guide or tell Roy, Ray and Dean Kiely how they want us to play when SP and the yanks have largely kept their hands in their pockets for three years really funny.

You have to be philosophical about games like that. After their first goal we were by far the better team but made nothing of our temporary advantage.

If you get a result like that against a team in the lower half of the table you could justify the angst, but that was an ultra clinical performance by a top team. We were just unfortunate to be the team on the wrong end of their best performance for weeks.
