I like that. He's certainly a chef completely incapable of doing anything other than following the one recipe that his grandma taught him.

Well thing is he hasnt really had a run of games and Roy has no idea how to use him. Meyer is a mental player who outwits the opposition in pass creation. Coming in as a sub when we are one down and playing him in the wrong position is not imho enough to castigate him

Not true. He had a run of games in November December last year. Roy dropped him after the Cardiff game at home on Boxing day.

Meyer is Championship just like Gayle and you fully understand that, Hodgson is achieving what he set out to do which is to survive this season with the squad at his disposal, we should be grateful to have him in charge.

LOUDER PLEASE - till the the ole geezer hears this.

If we were bottom of the table and cut off by six points then I'd be concerned, but considering we are not and have just been beaten by a squad with actual strikers and players who are being very clinical with their recent opportunities I find your words rather strange, we competed with Everton very well, the only difference was their finishing and then the confidence that allowed them to continue the game with, we certainly had their fans looking very worried for long periods ..I saw that with my very own eyes.

Why?

I’m not trying to pick a fight, I would just like to know why we are lucky to have him.

The teams that were really struggling before Christmas are now doing so much better for the change in manager, using pretty much the same players. Everton are a classic example, look at them now pushing for a European place.

I have nothing but respect for Roy but I feel he has had his day. If we don’t get some results soon we will be in big trouble and even the biggest Roy fan must see that his lack of changing things is a problem. I watched the game live and then again on match of the day and he seems to think there is nothing wrong and we just need to keep plugging away. It’s baffling and we are in deep s*it if that’s what he really thinks.

Brighton are struggling and so are Watford now, two teams above us with thirty one points are not better then us, we are only struggling to put the ball into the net, we are creating chances and putting teams under enough pressure to cause them to make mistakes, Hodgson is not to blame for the misses and cock ups in front of goal, also he is not to blame for our keeper dropping the ball over the line ..that one point would've had us eleventh in the table as we write.

No, we are struggling all over the place. Even our solid defence (at least our central defenders) is leaking, our midfielders seem to be without any creative imagination and even though Ayew "runs his socks off" - he also runs into blind alleys in stead of releasing the ball to a team mate.
As mentioned, our next 4 games will be the acid test - less than 4-5 points here and we are in rough relegation fight.

To be safe we will need 7 points on next four games. Totally achievable if we get positive again.

I agree, six or seven points should be enough, but Roy has to be more adventurous at home and start playing Townsend and Wilf together.

It is possible that Roy did not put Townsend on because he is still not 100 % fit. With a two week break coming he may have felt it wiser in the long run to give him a few more weeks before playing him.? COYP

Adventurous has only been a problem against Chelsea and Southampton due to hold up play, Zaha is being well and truly under the weather and I blame him for Evertons first goal with sloppy ball control on our middle left allowing them to move forward and play a wonderful ball across our box ..this highlights beautifully our biggest and most damaging problem which is delivery of the ball whether from corners free kicks or from open play because it has been absolutely horrendous. Townsend has lost confidence much similar to Zaha, the arrival of Tosun can do no harm with this problem starting on the training ground.
