Wait... what? So, express some extremely controversial views, get points for honesty? His views aren't just pretty oout of touch to the wider electorate, they're pretty extreme even within the Conservative Party. Perhaps he'd be more at home in the fundamentalist right of the US Republican party? I don't think being anti abortion is extreme. It's probably a minority view but I suspect many people are anti abortion for themselves but don't believe in forcing that opinion onto others. That's my position anyway. Actually I think it's Mogg's as well...but in his case for religious reasons....I think he's possibly being mis-represented here. And by the way...you do get pro-life democrats. He is a deeply religious man who said himself he takes the teachings of the Catholic Church seriously. He had made a moral judgement which of course has met with disapproval.

However it was created the unborn child has the right to life. JRM's view is entirely human and consistent. Religion, social conditions disease whatever are completely irrelevant. Abortion is premeditated murder taking a life often in quite an appalling manner. Perhaps posters should consider that they may have been terminated themselves and not have had their own life because somebody decided to kill them and prevent them entering the world. In many cases abortion is murder purely for social convenience.

How can you be Christian and a Tory. I thought Christ was all about helping those most in need.

If you are going to ask questions of others Nick, you should yourself get into the habit of answering questions posed to you. Ah revision of Christianity. Jesus didn't condemn slavery. Mogg supports a society that is far more tolerant than what even Jesus proposed. Jesus fed the five thousand once.....Mogg supports a system that feeds far more than that....all the time. The list is considerable but I'll end it there. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Sep 2017 3.19pm)

Is a child of incest or rape more deserving of being aborted? As I understand the current situation in the vast majority of democratic countries The VICTIM of a rape has the choice of aborting the unborn foetus up to about twenty plus weeks.A baby created through Incest would have a likelihood of being severely handicapped.I think that women/girls should have the final say as to wether or not they wish to have a baby after consulting a doctor.
