Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but could Luka not playing against Newcastle had anything to do with his yellow card count, another yellow by a certain date means a ban of i think 3 games Luka is 1(one) caution away from a 2 match ban as it stands. The 'cut-off' date is after 32 league games, which will be 4th April. 'IF' looserpoo win their FA cup 1/4 final against Chelski, our league game will be re-arranged, therefore our 32nd league game will be against Leicester on 11th April. Now, if Luka gets sent off for 2 cautions, will then get a 3 match ban(2 for reaching 10 yellows & 1 for the double yellow/red). All clear.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Purely from a stats perspective, our best defensive midfield players are Jimmy Mac and Luca with not much between Kouyate and McCarthy. Average passes per game: Milivojevic 50.8 Successful pass % per game: Milivojevic 81.6 Milivojevic 1.2 Tackles per game: McCarthy 2.4 Interceptions per game: McArthur 1.9 Whoscored player ratings: McArthur 6.90 Comparative stats for Jordan Henderson Avge passes 62.4

3 or 4 of Lukas yellows have been because someone has made a sloppy pass and he has lunged in to try and win the ball or just to stop an opponent but just finish’s up taking a hit for the team which is part of his job but could be avoided.

Most players in the League who play in that position get yellows for lunging in. It’s part and parcel of being the cover in front of the back 4. I bet if you were to analyse the whole of the Championship and PL then the midfield stopper would be the player who is booked the most, unless of course you include the Scottish Prem and play up front for for Rangers!

The sloppy pass is more often made by our No.4 rather than the other 'someones'
