I don't think anyone said that we were on worse relegation odds than the promoted sides. The OP certainly didn't say we were.

Funny how much the same conclusion was reached by 'the money men' nine months before Leicester City won the Prem. Favourites - almost - for the drop pre-season...then. And anyway, we are all used to this 'write Palace off' crap...or should be by now.

We were 4th favourites before the start of last season and never really looked likely to be relegated. However, I can see why we would be 4th favourite this season. We have a tough August and September, have a depelted squad and a new manager who will presumably trying to play a new style of football. I'm not overly confident at the moment but that will hopefully grow when we know who else will be making up the squad. We do seem to be bringing in the right sort of players at the right prices and on seemingly sustainable wages.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Wait and see the squad we end up with before writing us off. We are always among the favourites for relegation - get behind the boys.

Since we were promoted we have been one of the three favourites to go down every year. Eventually they might get it right!

I'm not surprised with the changes that we will have to endure, we are on par with the teams coming up, unproven in the PL with our so far unknown new squad, coupled with long term injuries to key players and a new manager who has never managed a PL team. It goes without saying we must be one of the favourites for the drop as we would have been anyway under Roy with the old squad!

with all the uncertainty, Ive just put a ton on Palace to finish in top 10 at $6.50. It could go really either way. Ive got a kinda weird feeling about PV. This is either gonna make us really happy or really sad. Been listening to the Palace podcasts and getting my hopes up .. so let's hope.

Strange thread as we're neither in the top three favourites for relegation nor, as our recent managerial search proved, are the bookies close to always being right. Our 4th favouritism is justified given our managerial change and the fact that we only have half a squad at the moment plus key injuries. However, with another 3/4 decent signings our odds will drift.
