Surely it all depends on the playing staff still left on the books and whatever funds are in place to acquire new signings. That, and some experience in bringing through youth, given Parish is putting much emphasis (rightly) on the academy.

agree very much wit the above, Wilder is tactically innovative but whether he could rejig our squad to get a better tune out of it than Roy is debatable, he might be out of his depth with better players and be more akin to Holloway than Warnock, but there again he might not be, it would be a riskier appointment than Eddie Howe, though it might be the right one. It's a judgement call, not the one I expect Parish to take but no doubt he'll be chatting about it with Big Sam this weekend, who recommended Wilder instead of de Boer of course.

If Roy goes it is going to be a lottery. I mean, if prior to joining West Ham Moyes had been touted I doubt many people would have been keen. I imagine it would be very different now! Keeping with the Spam theme, I imagine Pellegrini would have got many groin areas warm, but in hindsight he left many Spam fans limp. You look at the Saints boss, one minute he's a genius, the next he's an idiot. Or Potter, some of the best football outside the top four, but teetering on the edge of relegation. Like I say, if it's all about results I don't think you can look much further than Dyche if Roy were to leave. He knows how to get the job done and doesn't panic and seemingly doesn't care how the team play if it gets results. He also seems like a good guy and one the players would like. But...do we basically want a younger Roy!

Seems there may be another twist to this tale. SUFC have cancelled their pre match media presser & have called a press conference for 17.00 today. Stay tuned folks.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Mark Hughes once walked out on Fulham to make himself available for the Villa job, but they didn't come calling. Wonder if Wilder is putting his hat in our ring (if you pardon the expression).

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Not sure Chris Wilder would want to come running to us if the opportunity even arises. With an ageing squad, lots of players at end of contracts, renewal of contract discussions with some of them not with all by the end of this season. Also would he end up with any more input into transfers as we already have a director of Football at CPFC and apparently SUFC wanting to appoint one was rumoured to be one of the sticking points he didn't like? I would be very careful what we wish for!

Not necessarily wilder but one who has no affinity. Anyone on here with a business must know how hard it is to get rid of long termers. Not the politics but the emotion.
