I’m not saying don’t sack him if results stay bad, I just don’t think a new manager, especially Howe, is going to be able to do much with us until those players start to come back.

Howe is a massive gamble. He’s a one club manager who dipped his toe with Burnley and failed miserably. Bournemouth is his comfort zone and there’s nothing to suggest to me he’d do well anywhere else. He’s proven himself to be a great manager - anyone who promotes a club of that size on limited budget and keeps them in the PL playing half decent football deserves credit. But he’s unproven outside of that cosy, familiar environment.

All that said, who else is there? Dyche will never come here. Certainly not mid season. It’s a really tough one for Parish. I don’t envy him - this could be the time our luck finally runs out

With respect I don't subscribe to the view that he failed "Miserably".
He signed the likes of Trippier,Mee,Ings and Vokes.I believe Ings and Vokes scored over 40 goals between them to help Burnley back to the PL.
He also had some family issues whilst at the club - It was the death of his mother which was the reason he decided to leave Burnley.

No one

As I said I agree with you, any appointment is a risk. But obviously there are different levels of risk

No such thing as a ‘risk free appointment’ but there certainly is such a thing as more or less risk. I’m sure there are candidates less risky than him but it’s not my job to find them out.

Unless he’s been doing his homework though, it appears he has little choice. Dyche won’t come and if he wants to do something now he’s only got Howe and (apparently) John ‘worlds largest chode’ Terry to choose from.

Lampard can do one. He’d actually be even riskier than Howe

Well if it is Howe he wants ? he will have to move soon as I wouldn't imagine he will be free come next season.

Maybe so, but he still failed, and he’s unproven anywhere other than Bournemouth. He would also be inheriting a defensive line with a higher average age than the local retirement home, zero pace and maximum porosity.

Not good for any manager let alone ones not best known for their defensive qualities. Certainly not Lampard. He’s basically Pardew 2.0

Seems that way, although who knows - all paper rumour currently. If JT is no2 on the list I think for now it’s probably completely made up.

We have been absolute rubbish for a while now, but a change in set-up (ditch the 4-4-2) is more important. And play players where they belong (ex. Eze). Let us see where that brings us before talking about welcoming a new manager.

He had Bournemouth playing awesome at one point. Things happen for different reasons. Yes, they went down. But I'd still take him.

I can understand people saying he relegated Bournemouth, but he also got them to the PL from L1 in the first place. They went down because the funds burnt out, they never had any real money and any they did have got put into players they thought they could make a profit on.

When Bournemouth first came up they played brilliant attacking football and had a hardworking defence. Imagine that system with our attacking players.

I dont see any better options out there right now apart from unproven championship managers and Lampard, dont tell me theyre a safer bet than Howe.

Exactly. The desire to see more goals must extend to conceding loads then ...

A break from the game may have done Howe some good.

But if you think that Hodgson looks clueless on the touchline and seemingly resigned to defeat and unable to get a response from his players, that was Eddie Howe at the end of last season.

I think whoever comes in, unless it's a big step up opportunity, is immediately going to be putting their reputation on the line due to the rebuilding required. And there's no guarantee that funds will be available to get that done properly. Then there's the question over the competence of the people responsible for recruitment.

I guess it's unlikely to be dull anyway

Eddie Howe got Bournemouth relegated. No thanks.
Roy's choices have become frustrating, but the real bigger problem has been a lack of signings.

We might well be unable to spend more, but that is not Hogson's fault.

The injuries to Schlupp, Tomkins and Ferguson have been a big blow plus the insane sale of Wan Bissaka and the failure of our big signings Benteke and Sakho.

Roy will be scapegoated if we go down, but he is only a small part of the problem.

Agree, although we have had a creative midfielder at the club who was not played by Roy, Camarasa. Roy is not totally to blame but is not blameless

Surely any manager coming in will have had some sort of guarantee regarding spending? If not they must be desperate for a job which is exactly what we don’t want.
Personally I don’t want Howe but if he is the new man, t will, of course get behind him
