Looks like Frank will be replaced before the end of the season given Chelsea's level of spend and continuing disappointments this term. Would like to see him replace Roy in the Summer. If he cant get a team of top class internationals costing millions playing, why do you think he will do better here?

IMO the Chelsea job was/is just a step too far too soon for Frank at this moment in time. I think he would be good for us/and us good for him. Look he would command immediate respect from the players, given all the he has achieved as a player in the not too distant past. He has/will have a good knowledge of young players coming through/emerging. So I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand. Personally I'd prefer Thomas Frank - with all that has achieved/and is still achieving at Brentford on a small budget despite them selling their better players, he clearly has something about him. Meantime we're stuck with Roy the next few fixtures/games where we should/need to pick up points IMO will be the defining period. We will see. COYP

COYP Why do you think that Lampard would command immediate respect when indications so far are that he's struggling to do that with a large squad of players he's signed expensively ?

It's a quantum leap from managing Derby in the Championship to managing an international squad of multi millionaires. I think Lampard got a free hit at last season. With the transfer ban I would contend he was offered the job as none of the other top names were interested. He did well with the squad he had and exceeded expectations. Now he's finding out for the first time what it's like to have to integrate highly expensive players and he's struggling with it. It may not end well for him at Chelsea, but I find it hard to envisage him coming in at Palace.

COYP I would have to completely disagree with you regarding Lampard. He is making the exact same mistakes with Chelsea that he made with Derby and I honestly believe when he gets sacked by Chelsea that his coaching career is going to fall apart. His only hope will be a lower league club taking a gamble on him.

Now Benitez has left China he would be a marvellous replacement but doubt if we can afford him. That being the case then it's Thomas Franck for me. Lampard & Rooney - you cannot be serious !
Man and boy Palace since my first game in 1948 sitting on my dad's shoulders |

He's free now! Still a massive no from me however.

A massive yes from me! Think he might struggle with our transfer budget but the youngsters would probably get more of a chance under him.

When he was at Derby, he knew his best team and played them week in week out. Last year, when Chelsea had a transfer embargo he did reasonably better because he had to work with what he had. This year, he was like a kid in a sweet shop and went out and bought whoever he wanted. The result was he had so many players, he didn't know his best team. He has also struggled to get his big signings Werner and HAvertz playing in their correct positions. Some managers are better with limited resources. Look at our own Mr Hodgson, did well with West Brom, Fulham ands ourselves on smaller budgets but struggled when given bigger jobs (ie. Liverpool and Inter Milan) with bigger budgets. Would Mr Parish and Co seriously look at Lampard as our next manager. I think Parish would be very wary, but you can see the Americans wanting a glamorous name in charge (as it might help sell their stake in the club).
