A one year extension was the right thing to do . If he retires due to injuries we will get a chunk of money from the insurers Really? Is this a standard procedure for all signings?

Firstly, why would he retire, he has recovered from his ACL injury, which was career threatening. His issue is he repeatedly gets muscular injuries, often calf, and these are hardly career ending. Also insurers aren't stupid, any previous known injuries are excluded from the insurance so they wouldn't pay out.

If only Connor was fit he would be ideal for us. A far better player than Benteke or Bats, what do they know about holding the ball up. Still only 27 so it is still possible, just. Good luck to him.

I think his attitude is really good, hence why we keep giving him chances to prove himself despite being injured since god knows when. Must be the most frustrating feeling in the world for a player

I notice that CW has been on the bench twice running. RH would not have him there unless he was match fit to play. So hopefully it is not the end for him, after all.

To be fair to the lad he has only scored 9 goals less than Benteke over the last 4 seasons

If one player at our club annoys me the most it is him.

We have certainly missed his hold-up play, and his gpal-scoring ability. He is 27 that is not too old. In Roy we trust he would not be there unless he was ready to play in the manager's opinion.
