I realise I am probably in a minority of 1 on this matter, but I think a lot of credit has to go to Kane. His body angle at the time of the shot would indicate it was going to Guaita's right but given the time he had he was able to hit the ball with spin and deliberately land it just in front of the keeper so that it zipped off the surface.
I am always surprised that in wet or damp conditions players don't try and land the ball just in front of a keeper to make the save more difficult. Kane isn't blessed with any outstanding attribute, but is scoring record is due in part to his football intelligence. A bit like Glenn Murray.

To suggest Kane hit it in such a precise manner so as to bounce in front of Guaita I find somewhat exaggerated. I think it was a chancer pop from distance that swerved more than anyone expected.

According to 90mins.com & Crystal Palace Pro, talks are under way about a new contract, as mentioned in the match thread, his current deal ends 30th June '21 & is free to negotiate with a non-Uk club as from 1st Jan.

Lets hope talks are productive, tho the qualifying remits are somewhat against us, as he has never been picked for Spains 1st Team Squad.

Great saves by the keeper! Just seen the header save from kane from the corner! Why oh why is schlupp marking Harry Kane? Our smallest player? Against the tallest and best striker in the league?

Or you could just say he didn’t kick it where he was aiming. The modern football moves in mysterious ways! 20 years ago that ball would have flown straight into Guaita’s arms.

We have a very good keeper indeed.

Good for three or four years if he signs.

It's a statistical fact that the wider you have your mouth open the further you can stretch.

It's just football science.

Don't agree - it was a shocker by Guaita.

BUT here's the difference between VG & WH.

Both have mistakes in them, but VG has more "world class saves" to help balance the ledger.

His ability with that shot was shown again later in that half when he tried it again and it missed the goal by thirty feet. It had it's fair share of fluke and I think Guaita felt the same.

As others have alluded I think he was beaten by the late movement as the shot initially went as straight as an arrow. Kane was given too much time and opportunity to manipulate the ball.

He's made a massive difference from the moment he stepped in against Leicester and four errors leading to goals in the best part of seventy games is impressive balanced against the saves.

The best to have played for Palace in my time although probably not a popular opinion.
