With Zaha out it's hard to see anything but another poor effort this Friday against Newcastle.

After that we face WBA away, Spurs at home, Wet Spam away, Liverpool at home then Villa away.

Where do we get any points folks?

Points will come from WBA,West Ham and certainly Villa.

I genuinely wish I shared your optimism!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Wilf will be back after Friday. Monday was a prime example of his influence on and off the pitch. Dyche's team talk was easy without him starting and our attack looked ineffective without him. Think we will pick up points on his return.

Turgid football and an ageing squad. I believe we will continue to struggle and will be no higher than 15th position in the table by Xmas.

OK - anyone hopeful after tonight's effort?

Going to be a gutty match against WBA, the 3rd crap team in succession.

OK I'm a pessimist, but a long losing streak is on the cards.

Wilf is my only hope.

If I was WBA, I would be looking forward to picking up 3 points against us. At least, they have to assume they should keep a clean sheet against us, since we rarely manage to score a goal, even against the worst teams.

That's my take really. As bad as we can be there's worse, especially this season by the looks of it.

May sound silly this early in the season but I am beginning to wonder where the further 27 points to stay up are going to come from.

We have been lucky in several wins but have been abysmal against Brighton, Chelsea, Wolves and now Burnley.

Many experts say we have a good squad of players but if so, they are not producing.

So, is it them or is it the manager's tactics?

The latter for me. He is incapable of either fielding the right team, inspiring them or employing the required tactics. His attitude is baffling and he doesn't seem much concerned when we play badly.

Heaven help us if Zaha is out through the virus (as now) injury or transferred in January. The statistics don't lie - we don't win many when he is absent.

I am pretty certain that any decent manager could bring out the best in the squad and compensate should we lose Zaha. I am beginning to think that, of those currently available, Eddie Howe could be that man.

I don't think Howe would come to us as he's turned us down before ... we've got more chance of getting Pochettino and that's zero percent probability.
