It's good to have options as there will be games when we will need FBs who are more solid defensively and others where we will want the attacking options.

I'm just glad we signed him otherwise we'd be a bit stuffed with Ward injured and Fergusson no where near fit.

His performances have been solid enough and tbh honest more than I was expecting as he'd not played on the prem for something like 18 months.

Thought he could have done better with Branford’s goal on Saturday. He got across to Banford then didn’t do anything, maybe he thought he was second to win the ball and might concede a pen. He’ll do for now but personally I prefer Wardy.

i think you are being quite hard on him. We had 2 centre backs on Sat and Leeds only had 1 striker. For both the goal and the VAR one it looked like Dann was pulled out of position and then Koyoate 'lost' Bamford. Not sure if the right back can be at fault.

Not only that, we moan that we don’t get enough players in the opposition box but PVA constantly gets forward causing problems. Thought against Leeds it was him pushing forward that caused them greater problems than if Mitchell had played? It’s a good dilemma to have and I prefer at the moment PVA being selected?

We obviously all want/need mitchell to keep on progressing but you're right we also very much need PVA outside the oppositions box, Harry Hill would say 'Fight!' lol

It's not always a fault for any of our players to have to face the sort of good play that Leeds had to make their opportunity, sometimes some moves are just too good and if I'm honest I enjoyed watching it even though it was against my team and I know that sounds weird but I'd rather watch us play and beat a team that is able to harm us and Leeds did a good job of upsetting our team, it makes the enjoyment of beating these teams so much more.

Thankfully in the end they made far more mistakes and in the wrong place than we did.

I'd like to add I've watched first hand us trying to beat Shrewsbury at home too many times so I fully understand the really bad moments we've had.

I think signing him was a good move and given how long it is since he played I reckon he has done really well.
A positive impact on the team in my opinion and I love when old players return - especially when they still have something to offer.
A win win for me!

Well done Clyne.. I see promise.

For a player out with serious injury last season and not played for a year and now has quality to return the Premiership says some thing people may under estimate just how good the Premiership is.
Yes he needs a few games under his belt and some confidence and I think it shows, he loves the Palace... remember our club sold him, he didnt want to leave.. my respect to give him a season with us.. remember the value the team said with Sako, so much they brought him back again, but his injuries took their toll.

MMmmm nah I agree with the previous post...Clyney definitely bottled it. Ward would've thrown himself at it and probably stopped the goal.

Perhaps clyne thought he was last man and if miss timed it would be down to ten men plus a penalty.

Its not like ward has never made a mistake. Clyne is doing his best and has been thrown straight in!

That's not how I remember it.
Thought that he was straight ip with us - and said that he wouldn't be signing a new contract, but wanted to move on when he did. he didn't sulk, or let it affect his play. He got the Move he wanted and all were happy for him.
I remember thinking that it was very professional way of going about things, and moved him up in my estimations.

Maybe I just made that all up!

Clyne never played at all last season so I never expected him to hit the ground running with us.
