Throw ins are our least problem at the moment, finding a pair of centre backs who play with confidence throughout is our only concern at the moment.

think long and hard about the quality coaching going on...
Roy put a complete back four on the bench at Burnley and didnt replace one centre back. If those players on the bench were not ready, dont waste the bench. But when was the last time Roy, had the balls to make a positive tactical change during a match?

As I've said plenty of times before, we don't care about set pieces at all, it's literally making me go mad. Eze does well at set pieces against Leeds, an assist and a goal. The very next match Townsend or some other hopeless set piece taker whacks the ball at the wall. Every corner looped nowhere usually not even clearing near post. The whole situation is actually ridiculous. We're linked with Giroud. It's another Benteke, good in the air, dangerous from corners. What's the point we can't be bothered with that. In order for us to score we have to have individual brilliance (Zaha) or pass it into the back of the net (Ayew). We will be bottom of the set piece pile again this season - and every season under Roy. If I was the owner, I'd hire a set piece specialist coach and leave management under no illusions that we need to improve. We were the best at set pieces under Pulis. Surely we can do better than we are? It's genuinely poor management, it's pathetic.

Yes there should be practise at the very least maybe left sided versus right sided maybe. Another poster mentioned free kicks but generally we tend to pass back and back until Guaita has to kick upfield some times no further than when it started.
Roy has done wonders making us better defensively but free kicks, throw ins and passing backwards? Bring back Damo with his diagonal clearances which seemed to be more successful than just fiddle faddling.

AWESOME.

We have a rival to Willo's oratory.

Tho, tbf, it could also be used in entirely different terms.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

We all know the long-throwing prowess of Rory Delap.
There was a report that goalkeeper Boaz Myhill once put the ball out for a corner rather than a throw-in as Delap was in the opposition.

I remember throw-in expert Dave Challinor who was in the 'Guinness Book of Records' for hurling the ball 46.5 metres.

Alas, I am to oratory what Basil Fawlty is to hospitality.

It's only oratory if you read it out loud to an audience, just saying

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Yes, this is hard to understand. Makes one wonder if the players agree to take turns match by match or Hodgson draws straws, whatever way it's piss poor management.

Exactly mate. I'm fuming angry over it. It's basically ridiculous - why not let Eze just do it again? Obviously better than the others, who have been totally ineffective ever since Roy was hired.
Townsend did one good delivery out of about ten and that was unusual to say the least. I just can't believe what I'm seeing. 'We don't like to score from set pieces - so let's not bother with them' is that our instructions? Seriously, if there's any kind of structure at the club, then someone needs to have a word. This is footballing basics.

i know this is about throw ins but we have scored 2 corners this season after only one the whole of last season.

Last season v man City James Mac took it and this season i think it was Townsend and Eze.

Yet Luka when he plays takes most set pieces. Yet we've not scored from one in the last 2 seasons!!!
