with regards to ST’s the club is damned if they do & damned if they dont...i dont envy the club one bit in this scenario. they have been hit hard like a lot of our fanbase have been...a lot of people are in the s***. all i ask, is don't moan about ST’s and then also moan online about lack of transfers as that just makes you a massive hypocrite. I think you are being very generous towards the club. I don't see it as '' damned if they do, damned if they don't '. Yes, the club has been hit hard but as you point out, so has the fanbase. And the fanbase is collectively more vulnerable than the football club. Wait until after the Furlough scheme ends and then see how that impacts people's spending. Other clubs have managed this process so much better than Palace have. As for moaning about the lack of transfers, there is some irony in that as the club's net spend over the past few years has been negligible. And yet here we are, in a time of huge financial uncertainty, and suddenly Parish has got his wallet out. For a club that purports to have a close relationship with it's supporters, this is a massive ' fail ' on their part.

Nonsense, where have you been for the last 20 years ? The gate (season ticket) money is a fraction of the clubs income. Its probably enough to cover a couple of players wages. Its all about the tv dosh.

I don't have a good credit rating and obviously that's nobody's fault but my own... Angry is an understatement.

Its all about the tv dosh. im well aware the tv dosh we get, probably £15m less after the rebates to various broadcasters, take maybe an extra £7.5m loss in season tickets sales, plus losses of matchday income. add the transfer spend into the mix were probably on track for nearly a £100m loss this FY, the only additional income weve had is a 5% share of what would have been fulhams parachute payment to offset all these losses, which is about £3.5m. i wasnt saying they had handled it brilliantly, yet its obvious the club needs to try and get cash through the door, yes we could have done what wolves have done, but we dont have generous billionaire owners like they do. the americans have already leant us £60m to prop up the club, we owe £37m to the bank, so many fan groups abusing the club left, right & centre probably isnt helping matters. also, i have no proof to back this up but maybe one of the reasons the club outsourced its season ticket financing is that i assume its a massive ballache to sort and im sure if all payments were made on time and it was no hassle it would not have happened in the 1st place. i just think everybody needs to calm down & chill out...its not as if you would have seen many matches even if you had have renewed your season ticket anyway.

Damned is part of a commonly used expression Not meant to be taken literally except by keyboard pedants Originally posted by kev64
I think St sales equates to around 8% of club revenue, hardly dammed if they don’t, Pl teams can operate with no fans in stadiums thanks to Sky etc. They have to look at reducing the 80 % outlay on wages, asking fans who may be financially struggling to pay for a product that in all reality can’t be used, whilst players earn in a week what it would take me in some cases 3 years to earn is ludicrous. The reason your suddenly seeing the directors spend on transfers this season is imo, any club relegated into the Fl given the current situation will more than likely disappear along with many of the other 72 league clubs this season and next as covid 19 continues. Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

So with the expected deferment of sporting events having spectators, will the club take this chance to pause, return all monies paid, reflect and then another day adopt a different approach to season tickets. That costs them nothing as they can hardly retain the funds paid and endeavour to win back some appreciation from fans, who by their nature are the most loyal due to holding season tickets. I sincerely hope so. It won’t undo the pain and conflict to a club they love many have clearly felt, but it might, just might, reduce it I / we live in hope

The only time we have heard from SP was tweet saying we haven’t bid for a football player .. why engage with the fans ref tickets, Sky £ pays the bills (ish).
