the plan is clearly flexible given that Gallagher was the initial target from Chelsea, and then suddenly switched to Michy !

Unless one has a bottomless pit of money like the North western clubs surely all transfer plans must be flexible and there should always be a plan b if not c and d as well.

Players who weren't available will suddenly become available, players who we think are affordable will have silly prices attached to them (like the £100m we asked for Wilf last year) and a variety of other reasons.

As a long standing critic of Parish's transfer activity I say thank goodness for flexibility

If we have an option to buy on Michy I am happy otherwise we are being used as a shop window for him.

We still have spent less than 20 million this window.
When you add in how much we have spent in the last few windows plus the money we have got for AWB i still think its very poor and we should be spending a lot more.
If we want to progress in this league and not be in a relegation fight every year we need to spend more money.

If we go and sign a winger like Benrahma along with Downes and the young german CB then I will take this all back and say we have have a good successful window
I am certainly happy we are going for younger players as we desperately need this.

Agreed.

In the case of Gallagher / Michy, much as I like what I have seen of Gallagher, I think the greater need was for a striker.

Good to have the purchase option too

Either player option was going to be a gain,. But we do make chances , making more would be fine if anybody was there to put more in the net. it’s been a curse at times. So at this moment it’s Bats, we need most.

That's it. A shame we can't have Gallagher as well but it seems that what funds we have available are being targetted at a wide player rather than at picking Bats up with them this window.

How are we so behind every other club in the prem.

Villa on the verge of singing Watkins for 28 mil and rising to 33, yes its far too much for him but how have they got this money to spend and we dont. They spent 22 mil on Wesley and 9 mil on Sammata last yearTeams like Newcastle also splashing the cash compared to us. We have been in desperate need for a striker for years. How we have not signed someone a week before the window opens is absolutely shocking.

Hmmm, it's the 21st Century, don't you have access to google?

Try this:

See who is spending what.

Excluding the "big 6", Brighton, Westham, Burnley, WBA, Southampton, Sheffield UTD, Fulham and Leicester have spend no more than 25m per club.

Regarding Aston Villa. Their owners will buy "shares" worth 100m, to buy players, a dodgy way of circumventing FFP.

Leeds are gambling, like Villa did last year. Villa won their bet, but Bournemouth and Watford did not, the latter 2 are now in deep trouble and are thus having a fire sale to reduce debt and outgoings.

I am not a bot. No, seriously, I'm not.
