The major problem is the ownership. They always want to do everything on the cheap, and when the fans start to get a bit agitated Parish releases a CGI image of a stand or training ground so the sycophants can gush all over him again. If he really wanted the new stand built it would be under way by now.

It has nothing to do with stature and has everything to do with us trying to get a bargain all the time. That tactic backfired on us as we were left with very little room to spend money in the following seasons due to FFP and our 75/25 wage to profit ratio. The club now seem to be doing the opposite by trying to low ball everyone, and i think we miss out because other teams offer more. is the correct answer

There are only about 7 0r 8 clubs genuinely established in the Prem and sadly we will never be one of them. Bigger clubs than us have tried and failed but have always been one bad decision away from the drop. So far we have managed to not make one yet but when it happens we will go down

Let's not argue over the definition of established. It's pretty clear from the OP that what he is looking for is reasons why, after an extended period in the PL, we have not grown as a club. This topic has been discussed many times before and its not an easy one to answer. As others have pointed out, it's not just staying in the PL that is an indicator of growth, I would argue that in 7 years we should by now, have better training/academy facilities sorted, a proper scouting network that brings in players who we can turn at a profit and most importantly we should be a lot further down the road with the ground improvements. I appreciate that some of these matters are being attended to albeit slowly, however we are still not the attraction we should be given we are the only PL team in South London. We should have schools and colleges on a short leash for talent in the south London Boroughs, Kent and East Surrey but we inevitably lose out as many turn us down, probably because they consider us unfashionable. OK so why haven’t we grown wealthier and better set up in facilities Edited by Putitout (07 Aug 2020 10.39pm)

But we are an established Premier League club. Completely concur with this. However, I think that the average fan has the attention span of a goldfish. We are a club that had been financially mismanaged for several decades before 2010. We owned nothing when Parish & co saved us. Admittedly, they were not ownership savvy. But we reached the Premier League and stayed there. The whingers seem to think that Rome can be built in a day. We are in a far better place than we financially should be. Put up with it for now, improvements take time and cost money.

But we are an established Premier League club. Can’t argue with that - I do think with present manager and squad we are in for our hardest season and may not stay up this time? Other than a cup final appearance at the beginning of this tenure we don’t have much to show for our stay. I do wish we had got some (at least one) silverware to remember this time spent :-( Perhaps we will sell and buy players to prove me wrong and Hodgson and Lewington work miracles again but at this time I’m not looking forward to September as I fear the end is near :-(

Management and playing style. Roy isn't exactly experimental, so I can't see much changing for now. Credit where credit's due though, he's keeping us up.

Because we're cheap. Because we cannot get a stadium sorted.

My countrymen owners aren't known for their generosity, and I don't think our scouting has been top quality. It's a shame our facilities are so creaky because our match day fan support is first-rate. As a point of perspective, however, our current run of years in the PL has only been matched by 9 other clubs.
