Perhaps it should be recognised that Hodgson is not the only manager who can keep us up.

Yes yes and another yes. I never thought I would not look forward to a Palace game but if I'm honest I haven't got excited about a game since he's been here. Its some of the worst football anyone can watch. At the same time it feels wrong to say that because of where we've finished in the table while he's been here but I'd rather take the risk and have a complete backroom overhaul. I'm also sick of hearing Lewington screaming "well done" to players just for charging around like a headless chicken chasing after the ball for 90 minutes, its exactly what I hear at my kids u8's games from the coaches. Burnley have good players but if they can play the sort of football we saw last night then we definitely can with what we've got. I remember Glen Johnson saying that he'd always play not to concede instead of playing to score and thats why everyone hated him at Liverpool. I can't wait for the day he leaves but I'd also thank him, sort of.

I don't want to push more doom and gloom on others after the Burnley game and I am a Hodgson fan (more often than not). After yesterday, I've had a look on the official Premier League website at some of the stats for us this season, assuming these are up to date from last night. We rank mostly top or bottom (bad in both senses) in almost every available stat provided. •12 goals in 16 home games (20th)- A goal every 120 minutes. •100 shots on target in 32 matches (18th) - 3.125 shots on target per game. •Average of 382 passes per game (16th) - For every minute Palace are on the pitch, we complete 4.24 passes. •314 shots at goal (18th) - 9.81 shots at goal per game •Dispossessed 397 times in 32 games (1st) - We have lost the ball the most times out of all teams this season. This is an average of 12.4 times per game. If these aren't up to date, then they'll be even worse. This list doesn't include least offside's, least big chances missed and least times hitting the woodwork. You can put a spin on it and say that we take our opportunities, but really it points towards our extreme lack of creativity. I am happy with how the season has gone and where we are in the table, but just taking a look back to date is pretty disappointing. One stat matters and that is the table, but we just lack the cutting edge and it shows.

What it shows is we could easily have been fighting relegation. I said this at the start of the season. We’ve had a bit more luck or the goals have come at the right times. Hodgson plays the % chances and it’s a frustrating watch. But unless we have someone good lined up it would be a bit risky to change managers without a decent budget.

Nailed it. As others (too few, sadly) have said, be careful what you wish for. Look at Charlton and the way they disintegrated after ditching Curbishley in vain pursuit of 'the next level'. We are not a large club and it's unrealistic at this time to aspire to European qualification - poor infrastructure, poor stadium and limited budget make such dreams unachievable. Blaming Hodgson for all this is astonishing and is the thought process of someone with a very tenuous grip on reality. Seriously, get your heads out of your arses if you think that getting rid of Hodgson is the answer to your prayers. He's played a blinder, balancing zero resources against the demands of a vain and egotistic Chairman, a feat not achieved since Coppell. Without him, we'd be mid-table championship level (if that) today.

If we're honest, we're lucky not to be further down the table right now. The board would likely say he's kept us up so job done but others have done that in the past, so he's hardly a miracle worker. Besides, don't we have to be a little more aspirational than that long term? I'm not saying get rid and replace with with just anybody, but if capable and aspirational manager comes along and is up for the task, we should make the leap.

Nothing wrong with being inspirational but the infrastructure at the club needs radical improvement before it can become reality. European football would slaughter us.

I would swap Hodgson for a Sean Dyche or Chris Wilder in a heartbeat.

HELL NO from me. I get the football ain’t great, but I’m all about winning and staying in the premier league. Brighton away was unbelievable. Finally, the guy has no funds. We have seen when he is given a Michy or a RLC, we play some really good football. Dyche has signed Ben Gibson 18m, can you imagine if Dougie did this? Let’s steady to ship, let wilfs future sort itself out. Find some new investment and reevaluate
