This was a mid week game, we had beaten Brighton 5-0 the previous Saturday with a hattrick from AJ. The next match after the Walsall game was away to Ipswich, AJ went into the game with a chance to be the first player for decades to score 3 consecutive hattricks, he did score early and looked like it might be on, but alas it never happened, but we did win 2-1 think we won 4-3 or 3-2 the guy who scored 2 early goals for walsall was called junior...i remember chants about him being a hermaphrodite...think it was 2 in 10 mins. AJ scored van bastan esq volley that night...best goal ive ever seen live.

Checking the report on that it seems he tried to take the penalty that would've given him a fourth but Neil Danns jumped in and took it. Joel Ward played for Pompey that night.
