I cannot believe people are so sanguine about this. Roy said at the start of this transfer window we needed 4 to 5 players, including two full backs. We've got 1 player on loan, no full backs, and seem close to letting our first choice left back go having failed to replace our departing first choice right back in the last window. Roy must be seething...

This will play a part. A reasonably reliable magazine seems to think the offer will be upped to 10m and thinks that will be accepted. I saw a little movie about him, his personal situation, his private cab and driver on one of the football channels here and was surprised to see how he seemed to long to come back to Holland. Maybe in the summer, but with all our injury problems we have been having this doesn't seem a sensible time to let him go.

I can't believe, as a fan base, there is not uproar about this. The squad is already paper thin. Without PVA we don't have a recognized left back.
