People saying Parish should spend his money, he doesn't have the money to spend, its rumoured he has a wealth of around £40m, that's why he brought the billionaire yanks on, because they do have the capacity to spend into the tens of millions. I think Steve was naive when bringing those guys in, as were we for buying into it.
Roy said in the press conference that Parish is just as desperate as he is for signings and that Roy, Steve and Dougie are basically begging the yanks for funds.
I hope Steve has learnt his lesson from this experience as it's hurting the team.
The sooner the yanks are out the better.
Look at Newcastle, their owner wants to sell but he still invests as he knows if he can get Newcastle higher up the league it opens them up for better investment.

The point about SP’s comparative wealth IMO is as relevant as the question over control. it’s difficult to see how he can sustain the level of shareholding without significant investment of his own.

And Tony Bloom apparently has 'only' £50m. These figures, come largely from guesswork and the limited information available in the public forum. They are unlikely to, or in Bloom's case definitely, do not tell the whole picture. On paper Bloom is the owner of the square root of bugger all and, because the company that owns CPFC is registered in Delaware, we have no idea of who owns what or how much it's worth. It really is all smoke and mirrors and if Parish only has a fortune of around the same as Simon Jordan I could probably be persuaded to eat my hat.

Their net spend in the summer was around £30 Mill.Brought in players for £62 Mill and sold players for £32 Mill.
We spent about £7 Mill but brought in around £50 Mill from the AWB sale.
Bit of a difference!

That's my point, Newcastles owner is putting his hand in his pocket and ours aren't.
30mil net spend is monstrous in comparison to what we've done in recent Windows.

Ask Newcastle fans what they think of Joelinton - £40m worth of crap.

I'm backing him to score on Saturday, mind

We are so lucky to have Roy. He will keep us in the premier. SP is also doing us fans a great job. Maybe worth less than £50m which is unreal but small fry alongside our USA investors. They are clearly gone. As a top ten side we deserve much better than those w** kers.
Early days when I slagged them there was shock and horror but they have shown to be shallow. A great spirit club like the Palace deserves better. Those guys should be ashamed of themselves. Greedy venture cap nastys. I really hope we find an investor who loves the Palace spirit that we are all part of. We are very special. Someone with deep pockets will come and fund us all the way. And we will show football what can be done when you have a passion like here at the Palace. We are special. Ask Chelsea or Arsenal local keep quiet libraries. We are now ready to go all the way.

Are you serious ?

They have been trying to offload their investment in Palace for months now. Why would they throw more money at something they want out of ??

You're pointing your fingers at the wrong people here.

I'd gather Roy knows a little more than you about this. So by calling them out they're either going nowhere or tightening the club's purse strings when we need to spend.

Please clarify what this post means.

You think they don’t want to sell? S that what you read into his comments? Really?

Do you not think Roy might want them to spend just a little bit instead of nothing, even if they are wanting to sell? Or that Roy is very frustrated while they spend nothing while they want to sell?

This high position can crumble very fast, bad runs stumbling over the line can carry on into next season. We’re partly where we are due to a lot of VAR good fortune. We’re at the top of a slippery pole so never far away from danger.

Me too! And he was honest enough to admit that he got it wrong tactically from the start and got it right when he changed it.

Roy didn't change anything, it was Zaha's goal that changed it, unless your counting the very very late sub of a creative player due to injury,

Well hopefully Roy does know more than me given his role.

But the Americans have been reported to want out and I have not heard anything to the contrary.

If you look at the net transfer spend - especially last summer - doesn't that demonstrate to you that they are not likely to fund the club in the transfer market to the extent required ? So '' calling them out '' may highlight the issue but it's not likely to persuade them to put any more money into something they want to dispose of.

Hope they prove me wrong or that SP comes up with a solution.
