Guiata. Been a class above this season and I had reservations about him as well. But now think he’s got the quality to ‘step up’. I don’t see Kepa as any better than him for instance. Notable mentions for Ward (couple of mistakes but been solid overall), McArthur and Cahill.

I was scrolling through the comments thinking Should I, Should I, and you have! Well done for bravery as Jeff is not a favourite on here it seems. I like his consistency and he is a threat like he proved on Sunday. Always loved Macca and he's having a great season as is Guaita. Schlupp is our midfield Kelly. Not always picked but delivers when he does.

Guaita for me. The best keeper I've seen in a Palace shirt.

Not POTY but Kells deserves an honourable mention. The guy just gets on with it and does a job wherever he is asked. I think him and Cahill was our strongest pairing this season so far and he has been so patient over the years waiting for opportunities. I honestly think he has been one of the most important players this season and he hasn’t let us down at all so far.

For once, there are quite a few in contention. Cahill - made a massive difference after coming in Keep an eye on Kouyate throughout the rest of the season.

Ayew guys?? Seriously?? Whoever votes for Ayew for 4 goals is embarassing himself. I'd go with Cahill, as the attacking options (Zaha, Townsend) haven't had a great year. Yeah, maybe Guaita too. PVA was good at times, but ot POTY material. Neither Luka Milivojevic. Ward....he's just playing cause there's no one 3lse

At the halfway mark I would suggest there is not 1 clear standout candidate, implying that our success so far is due to the collective rather than individual brilliance.

Cheikhou Kouyaté. I can't pronounce his name and have to Google how to spell it but he's been fantastic. Jordan Ayew has been the most improved player this season. Needs to score more goals though, obviously. Guaita and Cahill both been very good and very consistent.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
