There is a trend here, a worrying and avoidable one. So many muscular injuries are mostly avoidable with more dedicated and accurate preparation. The fitness coach is responsible for this.

We all knew this would happen at some point. How many times have I read wing backs and strikers buy on here. But for some reason, probably money, it’s been ignored.

Personally I'm not gonna get to worried... Wouldn't surprise me if Roy was being a bit cute around the injuries with it being Brighton.

It is the fitness coach's job to: Understand each individual's unique physiology, fitness capacity, recovery time, propensity for injury, hip position, running technique, previous injury record, scar tissue build up, lactic build up and dispersement... I could go on and on. The barometer (target) of a football fitness coach is principally the minimization of muscular-related injuries. And should such injury occur, optimising that player's return to best possibly avoid repetition. I made my comments in the light of a sudden blight of injuries to so many players that are almost entirely muscular-related. Or then again it might just be that they all got unlucky....

i have played, a lot, lets say an average of 4 times a week ever a 15 year period, obviously not pro, or even semi-pro...but a mixture of 11 a side & various 6/7/futsal leagues. the majority of injuries i got were ligament damage but whenever i had a muscle problem there was no rhyme or reason as to when it happened, other than the fact i probably overstretched myself...i was not trying to belittle you, i asked a question but i forgot to put a ? at the end...so i ask in a split second decision, can you teach a full back who is getting turned inside out by a winger to block or stretch to block a ball in a certain way...you do what you need to do to at that moment in time. im not saying you do not have the answers, just ive seen many injurys occur over the years through utterly random situations i need to understand more to accept it can be eradicated by a fitness coach Edited by braunstoneagle (14 Dec 2019 10.09pm)
