I don't really see any debate in that decision as in the replay Chambers clearly sticks his foot out after the ball has gone past impeding Wilf's path and tripping him.

He did say Arsenal's goal probably should have stood though, which I think most of us probably (albeit reluctantly) agree with.

And he’s right on all counts. On the basis that Dermot Gallagher (a proper balanced and fair ref), MOTD, most commentators and pundits all felt it was the correct decision and only that idiot has said otherwise tells us everything we need to know about his bias agenda.
Hopefully we won’t hear from him again. t***.

Clattenburg was an awful, awful referee, who always favoured the bigger teams, as was clearly evident with his shockingly bad performance in our cup final.
If you take the Arsenal game as a whole, the foul on Wilf was a blatant penalty, and Clattenburg neglects to mention Arsenal's 2nd goal which should have been disallowed, and why the guy who rugby tackled Wilf wasn't sent off ?

Clattenburg is an anti - Palace t**t never gave us anything. Failed to play on when Wickham put the ball in the net in cup final. Better off without him thought he was bigger than the game t**t

A bent referee, who so obviously favoured the big teams, Manchester United in particular. A pity VAR wasn't around at the time of the Cup final, his corrupt decision making would have had nowhere to hide.
Remarkable that just at the moment he reaches "the top" of the profession he disappeared..

If I remember correctly this came out the week after the FA cup match but nothing was done by the FA or Refs Union to charge him with cheating. He also had a good long chat with Fergie before the game which was challenged by the press.

Clattenburg never liked Palace and would give decisions against us at any given thing. The best thing he ever did was to go abroad and stay out of our football. A bit of luck he might make a big mistake against an Arab league team and the fans will sort him out.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

very near the end an Arsenal player rugby tackled Wilf when he was clean through. Why did the Arsenal player only get a yellow card? it should have been a straight red. When Arsenal moan about VAR and their disallowed goal they should also reflect that they should have conceded a third when their player so cynically floored Wilf.

It is only a caution(yellow) under the laws of the game. It comes under 'Professional Foul' used to be known as Ungentlemanly Conduct.

This is my last comment on this thread as I have no desire for it to evolve into one of those dastardly Willo threads.

how can a so called "top official" make 2 basic ERRORS in the same half? ( not allowing advantage TWICE IN THE CUP FINAL)
as far as im concerned basic mistakes like that means he isnt qualified to comment on his former colleagues decisions and this country's game is far better off without him; having said that id love to see him take on VAR decision makers in a real life game!!!
