Got a sneaky suspicion the club are lining up Derry as Roy's replacement

Really hope not

Now is a great time to get an aspiring young coach in, so he can learn from the wise old owl.

How about Cahill, Roy has another season and Cahill steps in after that

Some absolute nonsense getting thrown around on this thread. I’m surprised Tony the Tiger hasn’t got a mention for the next managers role. Shaun Derry and Jedi are not even football managers let alone at a level to manage in the premier league.

We'd have to pay Cahill's agent though

Maybe learn from past mistakes? I remember that being announced on the radio!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Got a feeling this is Roy's last season(in football) and it looks like hes determined to have a bloody good one and bow out on a high, we need to start planning for sucession.

What better way to have pops/ jedi in and around the training ground, feeding off the good spirits that around atm, integrate them ready to go next season from a position of strength and knowledge.

Thoughts?

The trouble is, we are mid table Premier League club which is an attractive proposition for most Managers out there. We are big enough at the moment to attract a fairly big name and that currently unknown big name would not want to work as an understudy to Roy for the rest of the season - he'd want to be the main man.

Your theory could work with a new young Manager learning his trade, but why would we take such a risk when we could tie down someone with more experience?

If this is Roy's last season, I am sure he will let his intentions known to Parish in good time to line up some replacement candidates.

Why not? Granted DF wasnt great, but you could argue that he laid some foundations( left us top), but had to go earn some money to feed the kids.

How did ( no palace connection ) FDB go!!?

Irish / english combo in Damo/ Rambo?

Again name me a manager with no palace connection, that you think would want to/ be able to get a tune out of palace?

Dean Smith, Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche, Lee Bowyer, how many do you want.?

Mourinho- if he was brave enough- it could really invigorate him, but realistically who is out there.??

I'd rather someone with credentials beyond being a popular player for us.

I’d love Mourinho. That’d be excellent but I don’t think he’s a Parrish appointment. Certainly with the fans behind him I reckon he could rediscover his love for the game. But the money.........
