Had a date with an online meet-up in Northcote Road/Battersea Rise in August 2001 and two kids later I still can't shake her off.

Obese male porker (looks in his 30's) nearly bald, and what little hair is left is grey.

I have heard about these modern day 'Online Dating' facilities and seen adverts on the TV but I have been married nearly 31 years ! In my day there were so called "Singles/Separates' clubs where men and women who were looking for friendship/relationship could meet in a convivial atmosphere.I recall one called 'Solitaire' which used to meet in a pub in my area.Do these still exist or do those looking for a relationship or just companionship have to now avail of the likes of 'E Harmony', 'Match.Com' etc etc ??? For avoidance of doubt I have never belonged to any clubs not signed up for 'Online Dating'.

I'd have had you down as Young Conservative. Funny enough, when I first met my wife back in 1982 and we chatted outside a wine bar it became clear to her where my political beliefs lie, so she informs me ! We never met through any dating agency. Going back to the first post, in my days, it was generally the man who bought the drinks for a lady when he was on a 'Date' but this might have changed in this current day.I remember the 'Brandy and babycham' days ! as a young person, i've never tried online dating, but i've been tempted to try as of late. does anyone have anything encouraging that they'd like to relay or has it mainly been a series of horror stories?

Nothing ventured, etc. Only advice I would give is just be yourself and just hope, at the very least, a laugh or two then whether you get together or not the time hasn't been wasted. Apart from the one where she was an undercover reporter for the Standard or Express but let's leave that one there

Did you introduce her to your 'evangelical chum' (I.e., another fragment of your imagination, like all your black friends)? Edited by matt_himself (11 Mar 2017 10.26pm)
